The Russian people and the world, we all benefit from this major decision
made by former President Vladimir Putin on November 4th 2004. Although some of
our industries will suffer from the new measures and will place us in disadvantage
compared to other countries that doesn’t have this restrictions. Nevertheless the
economic gain can be spare by the sell of emissions credits to European Countries,
and for Easter European countries that now will buy energy from us in order to
keep down their greenhouse gases emissions.

While being the second largest empire the Earth has seen, and
by far the largest country in the World, Russia’s attitudes toward the
subject have a major impact in this planet.
While the Soviet Union existed, the former Russian Republic
was the nation that polluted the most of all United Republics, and
second Ukraine, this is indeed, because the population was more
concentrated in this places than in others. De facto, factories
established there and development rise in the mentioned republics,
the discovery of vast oil and natural gas reserve fuel the progress in
the Caspian and Black Sea area, all this causing major soil, water and
air pollution.
After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, everything in Russia
fell: economy, power and CO2 gas emissions. With the vision of a new
era for the Motherland, former President Vladimir Putin tried to raise
the knocked down economy of Russia with the right foot by signing
the Kyoto Protocol in 2004. He reassured the responsibility of
companies and factories had to the world. His administration is a role
model in this subject, setting the example to follow in developing
nations. The creation of pollutant restrictions to power energy plants
and high contaminant factories had led to a Russia’s healthy
atmosphere and an improvement to the quality of air in the major
urban areas.
