Error Recognition

Pada bagian ini siswa dihadapkan pada empat kata/frasa yang salah di dalam kalimat. Kata/frasa tersebut digarisbawahi. Tugas dari siswa adalah mengidentifikasi kata/frasa yang salah untuk dikoreksi/dibenarkan. Contoh : Where are you live? A B C D Kata yang salah yang harus dikoreksi adalah B, seharusnya menggunakan do Menentukan kata/frasa yang benar menggantikan kata/frasa yang salah dalam ungkapan perbandingan benda/orang.

Tingkat perbandingan(Degrees of comparison) Tipe 1: seimbang/sama Contoh : He is as clever as his friend Karto is as diligent as Nanik Tipe 2: lebih dari Contoh : Anita is taller than Shinta Television is more expensive than radio Tipe 3: Paling/-ter Contoh : Ritas bicycle is the fastest in the competition. My father is the most handsome man in my village. Latihan soal: 1. Uncle : Do you have the newer newspaper? A B Aunt : Yes, I bought it this morning C D 2. Rini Puji : Which one is the good for you? A B : I think the white one. I like it and it will fit me. C D

3. Jono : I think Semarang is crowded than mine. A B Jimi : yeah but your city, Pekalongan is well-known for its Batik. C D 4. A B : What do you think of my new car? A B C : well, its nice as Toms. D

5. Tania : Andi got 10 in English. He is smartest in the class. A B Suzan : yes, thats right Tan. I want to be like him. C D

Menentukan kata/frasa yang benar untuk menggantikan kata/frasa yang salah dalam ungkapan yang berhubungan dengan deskripsi benda/tempat. Ungkapan yang berkaitan dengan deskripsi benda atau tempat adalah katakata sifat seperti: long, brown, beautiful, big, black, square, small, round, short dll.

Menentukan kata/frasa yang salah yang terdapat dalam kalimat yang menyatakan deskripsi fisik seseorang (physical appearance)/benda atau profesi seseorang. Example : - Mrs. Shinta is a tall woman with pointed nose. - Mr. Smith is big and fat, short and curly hair - She is a manager of finace. Etc.
