Background:
Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) is the only university in grater
Barisal Division. In January, 2004 PSTU starts the Bachelor of Business Administration
(BBA) program under the newly build Faculty of Business Administration and
Management (FBAM). Form the beginning of this faculty PSTU committed to produce
the qualitative business graduates for the business world. For this reason PSTU formulate
the American Course Credit (ACC) system and as well as build the international
standards course curriculum similar to the Institute of Business Administration (IBA)
in Dhaka University (DU). From the beginning of this faculty the teachers, authority and
the students work hard to build this as a nation wide recognize brand. For this instance,
business students conducting more than 1000 survey research relating to the marketing,
finance and banking, corporate social responsibility (CSR), product and service branding,
total quality management (TQM), customer relationship management (CRM), effective
selling techniques, market share analysis, retail marketing, tourism management,
international business management, e-commerce management, value chain management
and much more current business issues. Besides every students get the countrywide
industrial tour facility. From this industrial tour our students visit Bangladesh Export
Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) activities, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE),
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), Chittagong Sea Port Authority (CSPA), Bangladesh
Porjoton Corporation (BPC) and much more public and private business organizations to
acquire practical business knowledge. Now it’s good news for us our first batch student
of BBA going to complete their graduation by April 18, 2009 and we farewell them by an
extensive program, FIRST RAG DAY-2009.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Grameen phone

We believe that, from the beginning of operation Grameen Phone (GP) do more for the
society. Besides that 14% of the govt. total revenue collection provide by GP. Large
companies have a large social responsibility. GP perform this in right way. We also see
GP is the official sponsor of Bangladesh National Cricket Team. As Patuakhali Science
and Technology University is only the university in Barisal division, GP has huge
responsibility to build it as a center of excellence. From this corporate view, Business
Students of this university expect the help of GP for their first batch graduation
completion ceremony (FIRST RAG DAY-2009) held on April 19, 2009 by a daylong
program. It will enhance the CSR of GP in this region to be more effective in practice.
