Introducing Ourselves

7-11 July, 2014

The new social evolution is driven by globalization and innovation. As

This faculty development programme will provide a golden opportunity

globalization leads to increasing interaction among regions and peoples of

to meet experts of international repute on the fundamentals,

the world, it is important to encourage multi-disciplinarily in emerging

applications and products of said technologies. It is intended to

scientific topics such as Nanotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing

Techniques.

OUR PROFILE : INTRODUCING OURSELVES

Advanced manufacturing and Nano-scale manufacturing technologies

DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology Jalandhar got established in

year 2001 under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee. The
institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Punjab Technical
University, Jalandhar. This is the first degree level Engineering Institute
started by the DAV College Trust and Management Society. The DAV
College Trust and Management Society is the largest non-government
educational organization in India managing a chain of 700 institutions in
India and abroad. The institute is located in the heart of city on a prime
piece of land adjacent to DAV College, Jalandhar on the left side of
Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway spread over an area measuring
about 18 acres possessing extremely beautiful landscape with a running
canal on its back and historical Burlton Park on its front. DAVIET is
carrying out original research of significance and technology
development at the cutting edge. It imparts training to students to make
them competent, motivated engineers and scientists. The Institute not
only celebrates freedom of thought, cultivates vision and encourages
growth, but also inculcates human values and concern for the
environment and the society.

promise radical changes for Industry and society. It means the potential to
develop lighter, cheaper and better performing instruments like nano
indicators, atomic force microscopes etc. which are used for mechanical
testing and nanoscale imaging.
This FDP will cover the latest developments and opportunities in Nanomaterials and Advanced Manufacturing- processing, characterization and
application - including the reality of the timetable to commercialization; how
to bridge the gap between research and application; toxicity and global
regulation etc. To this end, the conference aims to attract participants with
different backgrounds, to foster cross-pollination between different
research fields, and to expose innovative theories, frameworks,
methodologies, tools, and applications.
