On 042099 at 1300 hours, I received a call at my residence from Dispatcher RAINEY of the Wheat Ridge Police
Department advising Lt. CHISM was requesting me to respondto Clements Park. ~"EY advised I was needed as par:
of the Jefferson County Critical Incident Team.

I responded to Clements Park and spoke to Lt. CHISM andCom GRAlNGER. 1was advised of the shooting at Columbine
High School (6:01 S. Pierce St.),

At 1630 hours, I was assigned to a team of investigators who would be responsible for the interviews of officers whc
discharged their weapons The team assembled in a classroom at LeawoodElementary (6555 W Leawood Dr).

I was assigned to interview Deputy Paul SMOKER. The interview was taped. SMOKER provided the following

INVESTIGAnON:
On 04-20·99, at approximately 1116 hours. dispatchadvised of'a female party down in thesouth parking' lotof Columbine High
School. It started originallyas a medical call. and several seconds later, Deputy Neal Gardneradvised the party wasdown due
to gunshotwounds. I responded from the area of West Chatfield andSouth Kipling Street, utilizing my lights andsiren. While
en route, Deputy Gardner advised that he had shots coming from inside the school on the southwest comer. I arrived at
approximately 1129 hours, and responded to the southwest comer of the parkinglot. Deputy Gardner advised he was under
heavy fire fromthe suspects. I drove in the parkinglot and wentto thesecond or thitd row of cars on my right.and parked my
patrolcar, andexitedmy vehiclewith the shotgun. I tooka position ofcovet behind a black Toyotaa-Runner, Frominside the
school I heard approximately 40 to 50 rounds, rifle tire, and small arms tire, there were approximately six to eight smaller
explosions, and two very large explosions, one by the south double door entry which blew out two windows and caused
considerable damage. As I was maintaining a perimeter on the southend, shotswerestill comingfromwithin the cafeteria area.
- everal minutes later. I had six studentsexit the southcafeteria doors, running south towards me. As they exitedthe cafeteria.
when the doorswere open, I observeda largefireball explosion within the confines of the cafeteria. I secured the six students
next to me, ensuringthat they were out of line of fire. Theywere unable to evacuate at that time.

Approximately 45 minutes later, the gunfire and explosions had been continuing sporadically throughout this time. An
ambulance, possibly from WestMetro, drove inll> the southlot. I directed themout of the line of fire to respondover to the far
west comer to help remove wounded children. Another ambulance pulledintothe parking lot,and drove over to assist the first
ambulance. They parked directly in front of the cafeteria by the steps going up to the second story, At this time. the four
paramedics exitedtheirambulances, and immediately thesecond storywindows, from whatwaslater determined 10 be the libnuy,
were shot out from the inside by the suspects firing, I assumed at the paramedics and officers that were downbelow. 1heard
officers thai were on the west side of the building liIcing the library, return fire. I advised dispatch we were taking fire and
returning fire. At that time,I hada clearview of the windows that werebeing 'hot out. I utilized my shotgun, firing tworounds
of slugs lntothe windowdirected at the muzzleflash the! I bad seen from inside. Several moreshots were fired from inside, and
then everythingwas quiet.

Fifteen minUles Or so after exchanging gunfire with the suspects, two Denver PD Officers made their way to the six kids who
were next to me. These kids were safely evacuated by these two officers.

I remainedon my position until about 1530or 1545 hours, at which time Lakewood's SWAT team arrived and gave me relief.
The Lakewood SWAT team and the other SWAT teams, Denver and Jefferson County, Were all inside clearing the building.
After the southwest comer was secured. I evacuated one more elderly woman, apparently a faculty member, from that location
in my patrol car to the command center.

At that point, I was utilized as a bomb tech with the rest of the bomb squad, and we set up on the west side of the building to
begin dealing with the devices that had been left behind. All of the devices that were located Were safely dealt with, 1had no
part in this. ather than assisting the other bomb squads. and getting those items disposed of properly.

On April 20, 1999, at approximately 5:00 p.m. R/I interviewed Deputy

Kevin Walker of the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department in
reference to the shooting that occurred at Columbine aigh school.The
interview was conducted at the Leawood Elementary School.

(shots) at the suspects.

Prior to getting into the interview Deputy Walket' was asked the

After completing the "Standard Interview Questions" R/I asked Deputy

Walker if he would go through the incident starting at the time he
waS dispatched.

Deputy Walker advised that he does not recall what time he was
dispatch but the call came in as a female down in the parking lot of
Columbine High School.

Deputy Walker who was coming from Kipling and Chatfield advised that
the SRO (school resource officer) came on the air to advise of shots
being fired. The SRO advised that he was at. the southwest corner of
the school.

Deputy Walker advised that he drove to the south west corner and
took a position behind some cars in the student parking lot. Deputy
Walker advised that he grabbed his shotgun, and exited the vehicle.
When he first arrived and once outside his vehicle he heard shots
being fired from inside the school as many as 40-50 rounds. In
addition Deputy Walker also heard 6-6 explosions. One explosion took
out windows on the south entry doors.

Deputy Walker advised that kids were running out the south doors and
heard and saw a fireball from another explosion in a lower level
room again in the south west corner of the school.

Deputy Walker advised that he could hear small' arms rounds as well
as rifle rounds going off inside the school.

Deputy Walker advised that the windows on the 2nd floor were being
shot out by the suspects and officerS and ambulance personnel were
being shot at from the 2nd floor, which later was determined to be
the library.

Oeputy Walker, a2.Yised that he observed the muzzle flash from the
shooter who was shooting at the officer in the parking lot. Deputy
Walker fired two rounds with the shot gun at the window where the
shooter was standing. Deputy Walker advised that he did not hit the
suspect as the suspect continued to fire. Deputy Walker further
advised that his rounds went high and is certain that the holes in
the small windows above the big windows are his rounds as they would
be consistent with a hole a slug would have created.

Deputy Walker did not fire any additional rounds as the shooting had
stoped Shortly there after.

Walker remained in his position and the only time that he moved from
that position was when a elderly female came out who was injured.
oeputy walker'placed the female in his patrol car and drove her to
the command post for medical assistance. Deputy Walker advised that
this would have occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Oeputy Walker advised that he drove back to his position and

remained there for approximately another 45 minutes.

Deputy walker advised that before he informed his supervisor that he

had fired rounds he assisted the BOO units with the disposal of some
homemade bombs.

3. ARRESTS! DRIVE-BY SHOOTING

Subjects listed below were liken into custody follDwing a drive-by shooting in the 2800
block ofE. Euclid Avenue Iunincorporated Arapahoe County) on 4-18-99. The subjects
had attended a pany at the location and had been asked to leave due to a verbal
altercation. Prior to leaving they threatened the residents and then fired a number of
9mm rounds out of their vehicle as they were leaving. They returned later and fired
several more rounds into the residence and also at three vehicles parked in front of the
residence. Several items of evidence were obtained when subjects were arrested; i.e.•
Glock 9mm and a Tel:9 pistol,

a Ineratec, Model TEe-DC', 9mm piscol, .erial number 007630$ from a possible firearm.

2. A check of AT? listings pertaining to Federal Firearm. Licensees (FFL'sl in Colorado

showed a FFL wiCh ehe business name of Eagle Enterprise, 6301 W. 44~ Ave., Wheatridqe,
CO, ao033, listed to Marvin M, Miller. Additional reeords eheeks showed Marvin Miller
residing at 8860 Lamar Or" Arvada, co, 80003, telephone (303)~20-J881,

and interviewed him concerning nis firea~s business as well as ehe possibility of his

3. A query of the Tanner GUn Show. database had one entrl for the name 'Stevens': Mark C.
Stevens, 1069 W Nee Road, Larkspur, CO. $0118. telephone number 303-681-.292.
4. On April .9, 1995, at 3:25 PM, SA's Brouse and Dobyns interviewed Mr, Mark C. Steven.
at ~~e ATF Denver I Field Office. Present during the interview was Mr. David Miller,
attorney for Stevens.

S. Mr. Stevens was questioned regarding his attendance and activity related eo ~anner Gun
Shows in Denver, CO. Mr. Stevens advi.ed of the following: 1) That hi. date of birth
is 11*11·53; 2} that he nas ~een a vendor at t~o Tanner Gun Shows in Denver, CO; 3)
that the gun shows he attended as a vendor were approximately two years ago; 4) that he

2. While showing Bernstein the photo line-ups, he advised the following, tn the photo
line-up containin9 a photo of Robyn Anderson, he ideneified phoeo number 2 as a
possible, in the photo line-up coneaining a photo of Eric Harris, he identified
photo number j as 95' possible; in the photo line-up containing a photo of Dylan
Klebold, he identified photo number 1 as 90% possible. After he looked at each
photo line-up, he initialed the number next to eh4 photograph he identified and ehen
indicated hia choices on Photo Lineup fo~ JCSD/I 514, which, along with the
original photo line-ups, were retained by SA's Brouse L~d Dobyns.

Flannell regarding a fax eopy photograph of a young woman sent to him by an un~~own media
person.

1. On 4/27/99, SA'. Jeff aro~se and Jay Dobyns interTiewed Mel Bernstein (W/M DOa
12/7/45), and 'terry Flannell (W/F DCB 7/a/59) at their place of business located at
1200 Dragonman Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 60929, (719) 683-2200, re9ar~in9 a
fax copy photograph of a young woman, '.hic;' was sent to him by an =~"'lOwn media
person. Bernstein is ~he owner of Oragon Arms Inc., a Federally licensed. Class III
business, ~der PFt number 584-021-01-9K-J6349.
2, During the interview, Flannell advised that at approximately 11:00AM, on 4/26/99,
she received a phone eall from a reporeer possibly from Char.nel 9. this unknowo
repol:".:er advised that he wanted to send a fax eopy of a photpgraph of a female ehey
believed the poliee were questioning who may have been involved in purchasing
firearms for Erio Harris and Dylan Klebeld. Flannell further advised thae ehe
reporeer waneod Mel Bernstein to look at t~ photo and advise the media if the
person in the.photo was & female wbo was possibly in Bernstein's business five or
six weekS 4g0 with four young males weazing treneh coats who attempeed to purchase

Bernseein because she did not wane eo influence his memorf - as she expected ATF to
show Bernstein a,pacto line-up possibly containil19 a photo of the young wcman,
Flannell further advised that she destroyed the fax photo during the course of the
day with=" sbowing it eo Bernsuin.
3. Mel aernstein then advised that later on the afternoon of ~/26/99, another fax coPV
phocograph of a young white female was faxed to his business. unlike the first ~~
photograph, which ~is wife T~rry Flannell did not allow him ~o view, he saw this fax
pboto. Bernstein staeed that atter he lOOKed at the photograph, he took the
photograph to his wife, and told ber that he wss positive the per.on in ~~ fax
phoeograph was ehe same female who was wieh four young males who at:empted tQ straw~
purchase firearms five or ~ix weeks previously, Bernstein further advised that he
did not talk to any media representative~ after he viewed the fax phQ~c.

Moore, sales clerk, Green Mountain Guns. The interview determin~d thae on De~ember 29,
1998, Mr. Moore transferr~d nine. 9mm, ai~Point, firearms maqazines from Green Mouneain
Guns to a ~st¢m~~ alleged CQ b~ Er~c Har=is, Theae magazines are compatible with a Hi-
point, 9mm, carbine, rifle, recovered from the crime scene at columbine Sigh School and
all~ged ~o hava been in the possession of Oylan Klebold. Mr. Moor~ eould not ideneify

lead, document oontrol number 1238. That lead advised of information obtained from a
sei%~d home~made, video ~ape made by ~~ic Harris and nylan Klebold alleging that Green
Mouncain Guns was a gun store used by sus~eees Harris and Klebold eo purchase firearm
maga.zines.

interriew Mr. Moore identified his handwriting on an order form for firearm m49azines

,magazines ordered and, that the type ordered were noe a part of normal Green Mouncain
Guns steck. Mr. Moore f~t~er seated that he vaguely recalls the perZon picking-up the
order as young, ~all. and wi~~ dark hair, Mr. Moo~e d~d noe recall if the person
picking~up ehe m&9&zines was alone.

9. Ms. Stoddard stated thae Ron Mar~in cou1d be contaeeed at telephone number 3a~-697­
7263.

10. Ms. Stoddard waS asked to research ehe ar~en Mountain Guns sales records for 12-1a~
38 and 12-23-98 (daces locaced on che order/purchase recei9t and dates Eric aarris was
known eo have been at Green Mountain Guns) to dee ermine if any other items were
purchased on these dates by the suspeccs.

11. ~s. Stcddard produced a sale. receipt, dated 12-29-98, in the namO of Erio Harris
detailing the purchase of 3, Hi-Point, carbine, ma;azlnos, for 5143.00. Ms. Stoddard
staced thae no other do~~entation for the dates requested or, for the names,
researched was locaced.
12. SA Brouse competed an ATF F 3240.1, Documont Receipt, detailing ATF's retention of
the two receipts discussed in this report. Copies were made of ehe receipts and, along
with the document receipt, woro prOVided to Ms. Stoddard in exchange for the receipt
evidence. The receipcs were retained and placed into evidence.

2. Miklich stated that she resides with he~ pa~ents at the Littleton, CO, add:ess
above. Miklioh had r~oently been injured wh~n h~= v~hiole hydroplan~d and roll~d
over during a rains~or.m the weekend previou3 to the int.:view~ O~e to this accident
and debilitatinq injuries, ~kl~ctt stated that she will be at this residenoe and
can be contacted in the future at 303-734-0406. The parents of Miklich accompani~d
he= Co the ATF Qffice bu~ were asked by Jes$ica and her attorney Recht, to not be
presen~ during the interview.

3. Mixlioh stated that .he has known Mark Mane• • inc~ approKimately Webruary of 1999.
Miklioh had work~d as a barmaid at th~ Kilt and Candle Pub in Littl~ton, CO, and met
Manes when he was a cuatomer. Miklicn de$crihed the relationship that she and ManeS
have as beinq very close and that tney tell each other everything.

the following day she ~as with Manes when they met Harris and Klebold. On March 6,
1999, Mikl~cQ said that she picked ap Manea at Q~S reaidence. Manes brought a .45
eal~be~ pistol and ammo as well as a Mini-3D carbine and ammo. They then drove foe
approximately 20 minutes to a pre-arranged location in the Rampart foothills area
southwest of Liteleton, CO. Manes provided directions to this area as he had shot
firearms at this locat~on previously. upon arriving at the area, Miklich oarked her
vehicle next to a dark-colored Nissan Maxima whi~~ Miklich and Xanes knew~was owned
by ~hil Duran. Miklich and Manes chen followed a trail for about 10 minutes un~il
arriving at the location where other individuals we4e already shooting.

5. Upon arriving at th~s locaeion t Miklich is int~oduced :0 ~:ic Ha:ris and wylan
Kle~old. Ph~l Duran was present and Mikl~ch already Knew him since Duran and Manes
~e~e close friends. Manes ~ook his ei~eacns Que the1= Cases and ~ane$ ~na M1kl1cn
took t~rns shooting the Min~-30 earb1ne and .45 pi~tol. Mi~lich said that they shot
at bowling pins and t=ees.

6. Miklich said that Ra=~is and Klebold ~i:~ all Qf the fi:ea:ms ~hich ~hey had
brouqht with them. ~klich said that ~a~=is and ~lebold had two sawed~of= shotqun3
hidden behind a rock. Miklich desczibed =hese shQ~guns as having short barrels and
the stocks sawed ¢f~ to a ~1stol g=ip. One of the shotguns was a double-barrel and
the other was a pump ac~ion. Miklich fired one of che shotguns but d1dn t t :~ember
which one as she only fired one round and didn't reload at wo~k the action. Mikl~~~
said that Har=is had a cue on his ~anci whi=h he said ~as the result of 5hoc~inq one
of cne sawed-off shotquns.

7. Ha4~is, Kl.bQld, Ouran, Manes and ~~xlich all fired a TEe 9 pistol which Manes told
Miklich was sold by Manes to Klebold. Miklich said that chey fired the pi3tol at a
close range at bowling pins and trees. All 010$. :ange shooeinq was at items abou~
6-10 feet away from the shooters.
6. Har=1~ an~ Kleoold fired a rifle which Miklich desoribed a. being all biaok in color

9. Harris and Klebold fired sluqs from the shotguna and Miklich was shocked at ~~e
amount of damage thae resulted fzom the ,luqs.

10. ~klich described Rarris as being a ~litele weirdo but that ne seemed to her to be
~fa~rly n~ceH. Karris was wea~in~ a black cap with a rock band logo, black pants,
black trench coat, and had hair that wa& longer than in the recent photos released
by the media. She described him as beinq about S'la R - 5'11u when compar~d to Mares
who is about 1S t 5,1'. Miklicn thQL49ht Harris looked about. 17 yeea.t:'5 old.

11. Miklich deacribe~ Klabo1d aa baing a. a1.0 wearing a black cap and panes. Miklich
chouqht tha~ Klebold also appeared to be "nice H and didn't have much conver3at~on
with e~ther Harris or Klebold. Klebold also appear~ to be about 17 yea~s of aqe to
Miklich.

13. On April 19, 1~99, Miklich was ~:h Manes a~ his cesidence when Manes eeceived a
phone calion his cell phone from eric Harris. Manes told Miklicn that Ha:ris wanted
Manas to pu:chase 100 :~unds of 9mm ammo. Manes and Miklich left within minutes of
~his ~hone call and w.~t ta the Kmart on $Quth Wadsw~'t~. Miklich sa~d that Manes
purchased 2 boxe~ of 9mm ammunition in Nhite boxes and 1 box of .45 calibe=
ammunition in a whit~ box. Manes paid for the ammunition with his c:edit card.

14. Af~er leaving the Kmart, Manes called SaL:is by using a programmed numbe~ in ens
memory of his cell phone. Manes ad~ns.d Ha&zis that they had the~o he ~ad
=eque5t~d and co mee~ them at Manes' residencew When ~anes and Xiklich a==i'r~d at
the =esidence, Harris was alraady there ~aiti~q for them in ~he d~~~e'NaY. Miklic~
did not remember seeing a vehicle or what Ear=is was wearing. Man~$ ~cld ~ac=~s ~hae

he wa~ ve~y upset because the media was showinq that gah:is and Kl~bolq had been
~esponsible for the massacre. Manes 3aid ~hat he was ~or=~ed because he sold the TEe
9 and ammo Co ~tho5e k~ds -Klebold and ~a;:~s". Miklich saLd t~at they both :elt
ve:y dis~=au9ht that they had pur~~ased ~~e 9mm ammo jUs~ ~~e n1ghc before for

21, 1999, Mikl1ch borrewed t~e Video ftom Manes which showa Ha~=i~,
Kl~hdldf
Manes and Miklich shooting the ~i;earms used dur~nq the ma$sac=e ~t
col~~ne High School on April 20, 1999. ~klich said that it now bothered her a
qreat deal to view thi~ video. ~klic~ saiq that Manes gave this videQ ~o his
attorney.
17. Mikli~~ provided the following info~tion about the relaeionshi? of Ph~l Duran to
Manes, Har~is and KlebQld~ Miklich said ~hat Duran had introduced Manes eo Har=is
and Klebold at a Tanner gun show in Denver in January Q~ ~ebruary. The day ~hat they
all ~c is when Klebold later eontaet~d Manes and came to hi! residence. Mikl~ch
3a~d ehae Manes told her Klehol~ had paid half of ~he ~oney to Manes for ~~e ~EC 9.
Two week$ late4~ the remaLnder of t~e money owed to Manes was p~ovided f=om Ou;an

Jefferson County Sheriff'. Office Detention Facility in Golden, CO~ The internew

Invest~gator Steve Luciano.

2. At approximately 2,20 a.m. on 5/7/99, Jefferson county DepuCy Sher~ff Pursty

contacted a veh~cle parked at the O••~ czeek Canyon Open Space Park in $ou~hw.st
Jefferson Couney. The person occupying the vehicle was awakened by Deputy Puraty and
info~d that the park was closed. Deputy Puraty reoeived identifioation from the
occupant indicating that his name '-as aenjarodn Robert Stephens, ooa, 1Q/30/79,
Colorado Oriver J $ License 952al0487~ Stephens was occupying a blue, ~o~d Escort,
bearing CO plateS 83195G.
3~ A cheek of tne eompu~erized c=Lmin41 hi$to~y indices showed an dutstandinq arrest
warrant for Stephens for ETA on Possession of Marijuana~ C.pu~y ?uraty placed
Stephens under arrest and asked him if there a~e any ~quns, knive$, weapons or
drugs" in the vehicle which Stephens occupied. Stephens advised the deputy that
ehere was a rifle in the car. A. pat "clown search of Stephena revealed a paper flyer

SYNOPSIS;
On April 23, 1999, ATF Special Agents Richard Putnam and Jon Miotchell were
contacted by ATF Intelligence Officer Tristan Moreland in reference to
conducting an interview with the fBI on Nachan l;lyk&lI'lll.n. Dykeman had
already been interviewed and polygraphed by the FElI. Dykeman requesced
another interview with his biological facher present. The interview cook
place at the Super 8 Hotel on W. Jefferson Avenue, Lakewood. Colorado.

On April 23. 1998, ATF Special Agent Jon Mitchell and FBI Special Agent
~aulecte Brundage interviewed Nathan Dykeman. D09/12-15-S0. social security
number a~O-5S-0235. Dykeman resides at 7973 W. Plymouth Place, Littleton,
Colorado, telephone number 303-933-8460, with his mother Julie Good and his
;;ItepEacher Victor Good. Present during the interview, was Dykeman'S
biological father Matthew Jody Dykeman, 008/10-31-59, Florida drivers
license 0255-550-59-391-0. Matthew Dykeman resides at 3422 Pendleton Way,
Uld 0 Lakes, Florida, telephone number 813-996-5088. Matthew Dykeman
explained that he flew to Denver yesterday after Nathan Dykeman's

biological father at the Super S Hotel. Matthew Dykeman provided copies to

the agents of American On Line documents he had printed off the computer
relating to Eric Ha~ris and Dylan IUebold. These documents were cuzned
over to the li'BI agent. Nathan Dykeman gave the following information to
the agents.
Dykeman has not had American On t.ine (AOt.> for at least. a year. His AOt.
screen name was "IceFuryXw. He used to exchange e-mail with £ric Harris. He
never exchanged e-mail with Dylan IUebold. Harris's E-mail address was
"RebOornine at one time and he also used "RebOoomer". He does not ~~ow what
d

they meant. Harris used the nickname "Reb IUebold used the nickname d
•

"Vodka" and at one time used the nickname "Voodoom". On the AOt. dccumencs
received from Matthew Dykeman, Harris uses the phrase "Let God Sort It
Out". This is a saying from a video game. Chris Morris's AOL name was
"Grunt" with some numbers also associated with it. Dykeman does not
remember the numbers because it has been a couple of yea.rs since he has
.~~t anything to Morris.

The Columbine High School's prom was Saturday April 17, 1~99. Dykeman went
in a limo with other friends and their dates. The others included
Dykeman's date Christine Epling, Dylan Klebold and his date Robin Anderson,
Jessica Hughes and her date, who Dykeman did not know and does not re~~mber
his name, Kelly Brown and her date, who Dykeman did not know and did not
know his name, Janna (LNU) and her date, who Dykeman did not know and did
not know his name, and Monica (LNU) and her date, who Oykeman did not know
and did net. know his name. Dykeman did know .that Kelly Srown's date was in
his early 20's. Everyone met at Kelly Brown's house except Jessica and her
date and Janna and her date. The limo first went to Kelly's house and then
stopped at Janna's house and Jessica's house. At approximately 7:30 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m., the limo dropped everyone off at Bella's, an Italian
restaurant downtown. During dinner, Klebold wanted to have a smoke, se
Dykeman and IUebold went outside. IUebold seemed. normal to Dykeman and
talked about his trip to Arizona he had just got back from. Klebold had
been accepted to a school in Arizona. ·Dinner lasted until 9:30 p.m. or
10:00 p.m.

Eric Harris had tried to get a date, but was unable. He had asked a bunch
of girls out but they t=ed him down. Dykeman had heard that he a.sked a
Brandy (LNU) who was in Harris's and his video class, a Sabrina Cooley, and
:<atie (LNU), who is a. sophomore or Junior. Ha=is' friend Mike Vendaneya.
(He was not sure of spelling) would know more about this. oykeman is not
sure if Ha.=is asked out a Susan ILNU), but he spent the night of prom with

her up until Harris showed up at the After Prom Party. Mike might know her

Between 10:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., the limo dropped Dykeman and the others
in the limo off at the dance, which was at the DenveX' Design C..nter.
Dykeman did not talk to or see Klebold at the dance afteX' they were dropped
off. Dykeman hung around his friend Tim Kastle. The dance was over at
midnight at which time they all returned to the limo. The limo stopped at
Jessica's house and Janna's house then dropped Dykeman and the rest of them
off at Kelly's house. Everyone then changed into jeans and took thai:\::' own
cars to the AfteX' PX'om Party at Columbine High School. The After Prom
Party is like a carnival that the parents put on for the students to keep
them off the road on prom night. The After prom paX'ty lasted from midnight
to 5:00 a.m. Klebold and his date Robin Anderson took her car to the
party. HeX' car is a 2 door lighe blue Honda.. Dykeman believes that the
ca~ is a late 80'S o~ ea~ly SO's CRX. Dykeman and Christine were ae the
p-~y for app~oximately 45 minutes before they saw Klebold and Robin at the
• .e black jack tables that wel;e !ilet up. Dykeman socialized some with
Chris Morris and his date Nicole (L.VU). Dykeman saw Eric Harris about
12:30 p.m. at the party. Dykeman did noe see Harl;is or Klebold leave and
did not !ilee them after about 2:00 a.m., which is a rough guess by Dykeman.
Dykeman hung around Tim Kasele and Christine most of the night. Dykeman and
Chriseine were some of the last people to leave. Oykeman and Christine went
to Denny's restaurant with an Alisa Se~~er and a De~ek (LNU) afeer the
party. After b~eakfast Christine and Dykeman went up to the mountain to
watch the sun rise. Cn the way to ehe mauneains they wene by Klebold's
house. Oykeman does net; ~emember wheeher Klebold' s ca~ was there. Dykeman
pointed ehe house out to Christine. Oykeman was driving his dads black Ford
Explore~. Dykeman's own car is a 1975 Ford F-2S0 piok up .truck. Christine
had to be home by 7,00 a.m. Sunday morning because she had 1:0 play the.
bells for 3 church services. Dykeman slept at Christine's house while she
wem: to church. Dykeman went to ehe 3"'" church service. Dykeman and
Christine went back to his house after ohu~ch. Christine slept while
Dykeman returned his euxedo and got some Kentucky Fried Chicken for
Chrietine and him. At approximal:ely li:OO p.m., Dykeman and Chriseine went
eo her house, SO she could do heX' hOllll!:woX'k. After Christ.ine finished her
homework, they watched some television until approximately 10:00 p.m. to
10,15 p.m. when Dykeman went: home. When he got home his stepfather and
mother were there. Oykeman had no contact with Ha=is or Klebold after ehe

On Monday April lSi, 19S1S1, at approximately 6,15 a.m., Oykeman arrived at

his bowling class at the Bellview Bowling Alley. The class starts at 6:30
a.m. Chris Morris, Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, and Dustin Gordin are in the
class with Dykeman. Gordin is a friend of Dykeman and an associate of
Harris and Klebold. Morris, Harris, and Klebold were all in bowling class
that morning. They did not talk much about the prom. At approximately 7;15
a.m., Klabold, Harris, Morris, Gordin and Dykeman went to the King Soopers
near Pierce and Coal Mine. Morris drove separate, Klebold. and Harris drove
together, Gordin drove separate, and Dykeman drove separate to King
Soopers. Gordin drives a Green and primer 1974 Chevrolet Chevelle.
Klebold'5 car is an early ao's black BMW. Harris' car is a gray 1989 Henea
Prelude. Dykeman is not sure what car Harris and Klebold Were in that day.
At apprOXimately 8:00 a.m., Oykeman headed to school. Harris had. video
class with Dykeman at Columbine High School. This was Dykeman'S second
class after bowling.
v~rris kept falling asleep in video class and the teacher told him to go to
~ nurse's office to sleep. Dykeman's third class was gym and Harris'
third class was philosophy. Dykeman'S 4~ class was creative writing.
Harris and Klebold have thiS class with him. The teacher did not arrive on
time to open up the class, so Rarris and Klebold skipped class. After his
creative writing class, Oykeman went home for lunch. Harris and Klebold
usually leave during lunch time. He thinks they might go to Black Jack's
Pizza for lunch. BOth his stepfather and mother were home when he got
there. Oykeman got back to school around 11:50 a.m. He saw Christine and
walked t$ psychology class with her. Both Harris's and Klebold's cars were
in the parking lot in their assigned spots. Dykeman also saw the cars in
the parking lot before lunch. Harris, Klebold, Kastle, Nick Foss, Oykeman,
Christine, and Sabrina (LNO) were in this class. This is the same Sabrina
which Harris had asked out to prom. According to Dykeman, Kastle is one
the students that was held at gun point during the incident. After this
class, which ends at 12,40 p.m., Oykeman is finished with school for the
day. He works at the Firestone at Pierce and canyon, and had to be there to
clock in by 1;00 p.m. He finished work between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Dykeman thinks he went home and showered before going over to Christine'S
house. He got to Christine'S at approximately 7,00 p.m. He left
Christine's house between 10:00 p.m. ~nd 10;30 p.m. He went home and said
good night to his mother and stepfather and went to bed .
. Tuesday April 20, 1SI9Sl, Dykeman and Morris got to bowling claslS at
approximately 6:00 a.m. Harris and Klebold never showed up. After class
Morris went to McDonald'lI tor breakfast. Oykeman went to the video room at

columbine High School to see if anyone was there thae mighe want to go to
King Soopers with him for breakfast. No one was in the video room, so he
went eo King soopers by himself. He sat in the parking lot at King soopers
eating and listening to his car stereo. He got to school at approximately
8,00 a.m. and talked to the video eeacher for awhile. Harris and Klebold
never showed up for class. Kastle was in class. Harris and Klebold did not
show up for creative writing claSS either. At lunch time Oykeman walked to
the parking loe where he $aw Christine. Christine drove off in her car. As
Dykeman drove out of the senior parking lot, he saw Harris walking towards
the double doors leading inco the cafeteria. By the direction Harris was
going, it appeued eo Dykeman thae Huri$ might have come from the junior
parking lot. Dykeman did not see or look for Harris's car in the parking
lot. Harris had on a black trench coat, dark sunglasses, and was carrying
something in his left hand, possibly his black oomputer bag. Robin Anderson
parks her car in ehs senior parking lot, but in the corner next to the
junior lot. Dykeman does noe remember seeing a back pack or anything else
r-ing carried on Harris' back. Dykeman said he was not positive it was
.ris, but was pretty sure. Dykeman went to lunch ae his house. His mother
and stepfather were there. He headed back to the school at apprOXimately
11:40 a.m. He has to be in class at 11:50 a.m. When Dykeman got ec Pierce
and Coal Mine, he noticed fire tr~cks and thought there was an accident.
Oykeman eried to go around another way to get to the schcol, but there were
more police and could not get through. He flashed his lights and got this
girl he knows who was driving in front of him to stop. She told him that
two men with trench coats wene ineo the school shooting. Dykema.~ said he
got a feeling that it could be Harris and Kleoold. Dykeman turned his car
around and headed towards home. He saw Christine driving and waved to he t:
to follow. They drove to his house. Dykeman told his parents it could be
Harris and Klebold that were the gun men. Oykeman, his mother, his
stepfather and Christine watched the television and the school from the
second floor deck. Dykeman called Klebold's dad at home. Klebold's dad is a
geologist and works out of his home. Dykeman asked Klebold' s dad i f he had.
seen Dylan. Klebold' s father said that Dylan was at school. Dykeman
informed Klebold's dad that Dylan had not been at schcof, all day and whae
he had heard about the shooting.
Klebold is involved in a Fantasy Baseball game with Andrew aea~d; Adam
Sands, Cliff Andrus, Chad Laughlin, and Tim Kalllele. Dykeman was involved
last year and won the money pool. Fantasy Baseball is all done on papa..
d involves drafting players and keeping score by how well the real
players do thae season. Chad Laughlin runs the gallle and his telephone
number is 347-2421. Kastle's telephone number is 932-1936. Dykeman does

About two weeks prior to the shooting, Dykeman saw Harris with a video in
their video claSS. The video was of Harris, Klebold, Phil Duran, Duran's
best friend Mark (LNU), and Mark (LNU) gidfr:i.end, who Dykeman does not
know and doeS not know her name. Duran, Mark, and the girlfr:i.end are all
in their twenties. Dykeman knows Duran because he used to deliver to the
Black. Jack when Dyk.eman worked there. Harris was edi ting che tape, when
Dykeman heard sun fire. Oykeman walked over to Harris and inqul.red about
the video. Harris told him that he and the people in the video wene up
shooting in Rampart, which is somewhere up North. Harris and Klebold were
shooting a double barrel sawed off shotgun, a pump acc i.cn shoegun, and a
semi automatic pistol similar to an UZI. Phil and Mark were shooting a
semi automatic assault type rifle whi~~ was all black. Dykeman already knew
that the UZI type pistol and the double barrel shotgun belonged eo Klebold
from earlier conversation they had. Harris told him the pump action shotgun
~. ~ his. Mark and the girlfriend were also shooting a large semi-automatic
~ ~tol. Dykeman watched the video for about S minutes. Dykeman believes
that Harris WQuld have made the Video With a school oamera he had ohecked
out. Aooording to Dykeman, Gary Tallocoo (Dykeman not sure of spelling) the
video eeaoher had to know about the video and other students saw the video
inoluding Mike Vendaneya. Duran is over 6 feet tall, with longer dark hair,
no facial hair, and no earrings. Duran drives a mid 90's black Ford Taurus
SHO With tented windOWS. Duran is at least 20 and is a Columbine high
school drop out. Mark (LNUI is a biker type, medium heighc, medium build,
with lOI1!T straggly dark brown or black hair. He possibly has a go-tee.
Mark's girlfriend was short and thin with long derk hair. Harris edited
this video for a oouple weekS and also made another video for a class
projeot. Klebold, Harris, Vendaneya, and Eric Vike, Were in the seoond
video. The seoond Video shOWed the four of them driving up to Vendaneya's
house in vike's oar, whioh is possibly a Pontiac Grand Am. The four get out
of the oar and pullout what Dykeman believed to be fake guns, BS guns, and
possibly real guns out of the trunk of the oar. The four then have a
mission briefing, before going into the house hunting possessed clothes.
Harris took gun shot sounds from the first video and dubbed them into the
second videO, which was shown to the class for a grade.
One day in December 1998 or January 1999, Dykeman went to Black Jaoks for
'·'nch. He was still wo~king at Black Jacks at this time. ~hil Ouran was out
.::k talking to Klebold. Dykeman saw Klebcld pa.y Duran what Dykeman
believes to be about $100.00 in twenty dollar bills. Dykeman was standing
about 10 to 15 feet awa.y When this happened. Dykeman asked Klebold about

the money after Duran left because he thought it was for dxugs. Dykeman
does not tolerate drug use with his friends and stated he would go to a
fl:'iends parents if -he knew they were doing drugs. Klebold told Dykeman
that he had bought a shotgun and a piscol from Duran. Klebold told Dykeman
that the tIZI type pistol W'lllil a 9mm. Klebold was seventeen at this time. and
Dykeman asked why he didn't wait till he was eighteen to buy the firearms.
Klebold told him he really wanted them. He said he had been saving his
money for awhile. KlebOld nevel:' had any money to do anything with Oykeman
for about six montha prior to thiS, because Klebold was saving his money.
Klebeld cold Oykeman that he was the only person he had told ocher than
~. 1!arris. He had nee even told b.is hesc friend Zach Heckler. Klebold and
Heckler were net as close at this time because Heckler had a girlfriend and
went his separate ways. Klebold told Dykeman noe to cell anyone. iUebold
told him it was his second payment and he had paid the bulk of the money
already, which was a couple hundred dollars. Klebold told Dykeman that
Harris was w1th him when he got the guns. KIebold told Dykeman that he had
r->; purchased any other guns. Harris had told Klebold that he could get
'- ,1S from Duran and his friend Mark (L..'I1J'). Dykeman believes it was on a
weekend before a gun show in December 1998, that Harris ment10ned that he
and Klebold were going to a gun show with Duran. It was a local gun show.
but Harr1s did not mention the name of the shew. Oykeman never heard any
talk about going to a gun store. Klebold told Dykeman that his parents
would not find the firearma buried in his dirty clothes 1n his closet.
Dykeman did not know whe sawed off the shotgun Klebeld purchased.
Dykeman aces not know how Harris got his pump action shotgun. Harr1s went
to the surplus store on Broadway a lot to shop. Dykeman does not ~~ow
where Harris kept his shotgun and only knew he had one after seeing the
video. Dykeman never saw any Glock firearms or heard any talk of any Glock
firearms. He never heard any talk of purchasing ammunition either.
In the beginning of the Summer of 1997, Dykeman went with Harris and
Klabold to a culvert that ran under Wadsworth between Ken Caryl and
Chatfield Reservoir. They lic off a C02 device that Harris had made out of
a C02 cartridge he filled with black powder and stuck a fireworks fuse in.
The device also had gray duct tape on it. A few days after this Dykeman
was with Klebeld when he drilled out some C02 cartridges to make them
easier to fill with powder. Klebold did this because Harris had told him
it was hard to fill t:hem with powder having the smaller hole. Oykeman
inks Klebold drilled one or two of C02 devices.

Dykeman saw a coffee can containing black powder in Harris' bedroom around
the end of the Summer of 1997. Harris kept the can on a shelf on top of
his desk. lQ.ebold;me. Hattis worked fer a Firework", stand at: the corner of
Platte Canyon and Kendall that summer. They received un",old fireworks as
part of their pay. They took the powder out of the fireworks and put it in
the coffee can. Oykeman also saw approximately 50 feet of green cannon fuse
coiled up and hanging on liattis' wall. OylHman thinkJI Hattis bought the
fuse at Old Glory, which is a fireworks warehouse in norchern Denver.
Harris told Dykeman that the fuse burns at so many inohes a seoond. Dykeman
did nee see any pipes at this tillle. Harris always had fireworks and all
guns as long as Dykeman has known him.
In che Fall of 1997, Harris cold Dykeman that his mother had found a pipe
bomtl in his closet. Harris told Dykeman that his father put the pipe bomb
in hiill (Father's) closet because he did J:1,Ot know what to do with it.
Harris took Dykeman to his parents closet and showed him the pipe bomb. It
w~~ approximacely 2 inches in diameter and apprOXimately 8 inches in
4 geh. It had a green fuse coming out the end with gray duct tape on it.
Dyke~~ is not sure why he used the duct tape. A couple weeks after this
Dykeman Saw one or two more pipe bombs in a shce box in Harris' closet. One
of them was about 1 inch in diameter and about 8 inches in length. If there
was another pipe bomb, Dykeman said it was skinnier. Harris told DykemL~
during the time Dykeman saw the firillt pipe bomtl that he l:>ought the pipe at
a hardware store on Wadsworth.
In the Fall of 1997, c.~is Morris and Dykeman we;e at Slack Jacks during
the school lunch break. Harris and Klebold were there with another C02
device. Harris had found some white powder in some fireworks that he
wanted to exper:i.ment with. Harris lit the device and threw it: down a pipe
behind alack Jacks. 1'h:i.s one was louder than the previous one they had lit.

A cQuple of days after the 1998 Superbowl, Harris told Dykeman that Klebold
and he went to Deer Creek Canyon and Wadsworth and lit off a pipe bomb.
Harris told Dykeman that it made a large noise and blew off a couple chunks
of rock.
Harris and Klebold told Dykeman sometime around the Summer of 1998, or
earlier that they had set off a pipe bomb in a field down off Wadsworth,
somewhere south of 470. Klebold and Dykeman never talked about any timing
rices for the pipe bombs. Both Klebold and Oykeman had 'read the
Anarchist Cookl:look: off the Internet. Dykeman saw it on Klebold' ill compu.ter
and lQ.ebold mentioned that he sent it to Harris. 'l'h:i.s was around the Summer

Littleton. Klebold ~d Harris were already friends before this.

Dykeman and Harris once had a falling out over Oykeman's girlfriend
Christine. Christine had w~ted to date Harris, but he was not interested,
so Dykeman as~d hel:' OUt. On thel:'e first date Hal:'ris tried to cause
trouble and they had a falling out over this fol:' a while.

Harris and Klebold had the list of everyone's locker and combinations at
Columbine High School. Klebold had haoked into the sohools computer in his
sophomol:'e or junior year. Students keep their same locker through all the
grades. Harris and Klebold oould have made trips in and out of school all
day long because they are students tb.ere.
