PRESENTATION

The Forum of Associations working on Human Rights Education and Peace was formally established in Vitoria-Gasteiz on March 29, 2007 as a nonprofit association whose mission is to contribute to the consolidation of a culture of peace and Human Rights promotion. Since then we have worked hard in three directions: social organizations, public institutions and society.

OUR OBJECTIVES

We work to promote the relationship and exchange between the entities from the forum, so they can generate synergies that strengthen and enhance existing resources and initiatives. We provide advice, consultation and constructive criticism to the initiatives promoted by the institutions in human rights education and peace area, and collaborate actively in the construction, development de e op e t a and d monitoring o to g o of t the e sa same, e, as well e as identifying de t y g needs eeds a and dp priorities o t es in t this sa area. ea We develop an informative work to publicize and disseminate human rights education as basic asset to improve the connivance in our society.

The Forum aims to collect the needs and demands of social area and to transmit these to the institutions. Furthermore, the Forum will provide a critical and constructive through joint review and evaluation of plans and policies that in education for peace, human rights and connivance are launched.

The Forum established communication channels and creates spaces for dialogue with society, where the Forum can hear and translate questions or issues related to their areas of expertise. The Forum also offers the possibility of member organizations involved in actions on peace, peace connivance and human rights, rights and provide a framework on which to listen and collect the demands, concerns and proposals on these topics.

Euskalerriko Eskautak is an educational movement, in which education is understood as a fundamental way to the personal growth and change in our society. Gernika Gogoratuz develops its activities within the frame of Peace building in the areas of research, training, engagement in community work and dissemination in order to strengthen networks which contribute to make Gernika a global reference on Peace. Ikertze is a cultural non-profit organization that develops civic participation projects that integrate new forms of expression in the form of working with the group to the public. Itaka Escolapios is a Foundation created and encouraged by Piarist Fathers and the Scolopi fraternity. They are convinced that education of the most disadvantaged people is the better way to change the world and to make ready a better future making the new generations provide with responsibility sharing the best of themselves.
