In some leading Japanese manufacturing companies, a key element is stockless production". A system of production that allows no inventories of raw material work in process or finished goods goes hand in hand with just in time philosophy.

APPLICATIONS OF JAPANESE MANUFACTURING


Generally five company adopted Japanese manufacturing methods and all got success. They are General Motors, General electrics, RCA, Hewlett Packard and John Deere. They do involve risk. Rather than blindly adopting new manufacturing methods, managers must understand their industries and their companies marketing needs, customer and products.
