SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The results of this study may be beneficial to the following. The clients undergoing hemodialysis may be benefitted from the findings of the study. Through the findings, they may be informed of the degree of their quality of life in physical activity, psychological conditions, spirituality, socio-economic status, family support, coping mechanisms and regimental compliance to medications and hemodialysis procedure and thus, they with his/her family will be able to adapt the changes in their lives giving priority the hemodialysis procedure to be undergoing by one member of the family. The family may be aware about the situation of the family member who had chronic kidney disease. They will accept changes in their life especially giving priorities with the proper foods, medicines, or hemodialysis needed by the client. But most, they will adjust to the situation of spending time, effort, extending emotional and spiritual support and loving care with the client. The Government agencies, especially the Department of Health and the non-Government agencies may consider the results of this study as an updated data for health officials in formulating guidelines or legislative laws in implementing programs and to strengthen the existing programs in order to reduce the incidence, morbidity, and mortality rates of Filipinos who suffered chronic kidney disease. Furthermore, it will give information to local Government like the office of the Governor in the Province of Bulacan whom many needy people avail subsidies for hemodialysis procedure aside from assistance given by the Philhealth and private insurance and selected politicians The result of this study also will serve as a basis to suggest a strong awareness program on preventive measures against kidney disease especially to the people in remote areas. The Hospitals or Dialysis Centers may contemplate the results as the basis of referring clients to avail assistance from Government agencies specially the hemodialysis procedure. Likewise , the hospital administration may be aware of the clients-personnel relationship and to adapt system in upgrading the facilities and hiring well-trained personnel to handle the situation of the clients. The future researchers may be inspired with the results of this study and that similar study may be conducted in the future with different variables. Future studies may consider the possible solutions to minimize the effect of the chronic kidney disease to the quality of life of the clients and of the family as well.
