ESSENTIAL BELIEFS The Bible

The Bible is Gods special revelation to humanity, centering on the glory of Gods grace through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, as the word of God, the Bible alone is our ultimate authority for all of life, theologically, devotionally and practically.

Faith
People are reconciled to God, not by their own good works, but through faith alone in the good works of Jesus. Therefore, someone becomes a Christian not by doing for God, but by receiving from God.

Grace
Salvation being through faith alone means that people are reconciled to God by grace alone through the substitutionary death of Jesus. Therefore, the Christians standing before God is a gift, not a reward.

Jesus
Our only hope of forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life is only gained through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not by any merit or effort of our own.

The Glory of God

The goal of our theology is that God alone would receive the glory for redeeming, adopting and empowering sinners with new life. Therefore, there is no room for selfrighteousness in the gospel, but only for boasting in the cross of Jesus. For a more in-depth survey of our theological orientation, check out the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms and/or our extended theological summary on the Creekstone website. The Creekstone ofce is located on the Historic Square at 40-B Public Square South just above the Mass Bay Trading Company. The mailing address is PO Box 1234, Dahlonega, GA, 30533.

GET CONNECTED The Get Connected card in the bulletins are for you to ll out and place in the offering basket after the message. Let us know you were here! Our offering goes to support the ministry of the gospel locally through Creekstone, regionally through our church planting partnerships, and globally thorough the missionary families we support overseas in India and Africa. Your giving is making a difference! TWO SERVICE SUNDAYS BEGIN AUGUST 18th! To accommodate our typical fall surge in Sunday attendance, starting August 18th, we will offer two services through September 22, one at 9:00 a.m. and the other at 10:45 a.m. The services will be identical except that GraceKids will only meet during the second service. If you are a regular at Creekstone, please consider attending the early service, which not only will open up much needed seating space, but also will provide a great opportunity to welcome and greet the many new folks who will be joining us at the second service. NEW SERMON SERIES BEGINS AUGUST 18TH: The Good Life This 8-week sermon series, based on the Beatitudes of Jesus in Matthew 5, will reveal Gods design for the good life. Since Jesus description of the good life is so counterintuitive to our common, cultural way of thinking, what you will discover may surprise you, and may change you in ways that you never imagined to be possible. So, be sure to join us in August as we pursue The Good Life!

carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

A LISTENING GUIDE FOR TODAYS MESSAGE: Main idea: Time is a God-given resourcea resource to steward, not to squander. Although it is limited, the problem is not the amount of time we have as much as it is how we use the time we have. So, what will it look like for you to make the most of your time? I. We need to make an honest evaluation.

II. We need to answer a critical question.

SEXUAL RECOVERY GROUP FOR SPOUSES Laurie Boerman, with Access Grace Counseling, will be leading a 16-week recovery/support group at the Creekstone Ofces for those whose spouses are struggling with a sexual addiction. The group begins the rst week of September. Cost: $400. For more information, please contact Laurie at 470-253-0950 or via email at laurieb@accessgrace.com. Laurie also will be holding ofce hours this year at the Creekstone ofces for personal, marriage and family counseling.

III. We need to consider a practical solution.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION & DISCUSSION:

1) Have you ever considered time as a gift? How does that affect your view and value of time? 2) What difference would it make if you were able to spend more of your time on your life priorities? 3) What is your strategy for planning/investing/budgeting your time? Why is it important to get control of your calendar and to keep your saw sharp? 4) How did Jesus life priorities provide direction for his use of time?
