Benefits and Importance of Yantras

In simple terms, An Yantra is a symbolic representation of a Mantra. They are emblems of psychic power. The literal meaning of yantra is am instrument or machine. Especially in Hinduism, Deities are worshiped in different forms and each form is linked to a yantra. It is said that if you are chanting mantras of a diety keeping his yantra while chanting can speed up the beneficial effects of the mantras. Yantras are widely used in meditation, Pujas and tantric rituals. Yantras can be made of various metals like copper, gold, silver, astadhatu, pancha loha etc. or a special leaf referred to as bhoja patra. The act of wearing, drawing, or concentrating on a yantra is said to have spiritual or astrological or magical

benefits. If you observe a Yantra one can notice several symbols. Some Symbols employed in yantras are squares, triangles, circles and floral patterns but may also include more complex and detailed symbols like a lotus flower representing chakras, bija mantras in Devanagari, a swastik symbol representing prosperity etc.The process of creation of Yantra is represented by the five elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether while the activating is the process of putting the Soul into it. Know Why! A Quick Read, Solid Reasons. The number 108 is called a 'Harshad' Number. 'Harshad' in Sanskrit means joy giving. In Vedic mathematics, a harshad number is defined as an integer that is divisible by the sum of its own digits. The number 108 is divisible by 9. This number, 108 has held a mysterious enigma in religious pursuits of Hinduism. The Vedic sages of the ancient civilization were not only enlightened spiritually but were proficient in mathematics. They introduced the number system based on their detailed study of the Cosmos. They believed that number 108 succinctly defines all of the existence of this universe. 108 which totals up to Number 9 represents wholeness. The number nine is a symbolic representation of Brahma, the Creator of the Universe. If you try and multiply 9 times any number, the digits of the product always total up to 9.

2x9=18 and 1+8=9. 285x9=2565 and the sum of 2+5+6+5=18 1+8=9. 8543x9=76887 and its sum is 7+6+8+8+7=36 3+6=9 Thus number 9 represents God and God times anything is always God. God in Hinduism is Brahman- everything originates from Brahman and finally emerges into Brahman. Scriptures state that Brahman (God) is symbolically represented by the figure 9. The three figures in the number 108 add up to nine (1 + 0 + 8 = 9). The figure 9 itself when multiplied by any other figure and the digits of the answer when added up will provide the answer as exactly 9. The different stages of creationand evolution are all linked to the figure 9 as seen below the following figures all add to 9. Kaliyuga or the dark age is for a duration of 432,000 human years. Dwaparyuga lasts for 864,000 human years The duration of Tretayuga is 1,296,000 human years Satayuga consists of 1,728,000 human years A Mahayuga is said to last for 4,320,000 human years A celestial year in Brahmas life consists of 3,110,400,000,000 human years Brahmas lifespan consists of 311,040,000,000,000 human years. The digits of each of the above figures sum up to 9. The figure nine is therefore said to represent Brahman or Infinity. According to astrological sciences the influences and aspects of 9 planets travelling through the 12 zodiac signs constitutes the whole of existence. There are 9 x 12 = 108 combinations for such aspects possible that influence human life on Earth. In astrology 27 nakshatras or lunar constellations are divided into 4 padas or parts. The four parts of the 27 nakshatras are influenced by the 4 elements of nature - fire, earth, air, water. The entire existence is influenced by the combination of 27 x 4 = 108 forces that are exerted on earth. Our universe according to the sages has 3 dimensions, very much like the x. y and z coordinate axes. The sages expressed the entire existential sphere mathematically in terms of the powers of 1, 2, and 3. 1 to 1st power = 1; 2 to 2nd power = 4 (2x2); 3 to 3rd power = 27 (3x3x3). The entire combination of the three dimensions equal 1x4x27 = 108.

Number 1 represents the first dimensional reality, Number 2 represents the second dimensional reality, while number 3 represents the third dimensional reality. When you mulitply their powers together then it encompasses all that exists within it which is the whole of existence. Ancient texts state the universe to abound with 108 naturally occurring elements. Our current periodic table confirms this fact. The Sun is the central point of our Universe. The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the earth . The mean distance of Sun from Earth: 149.60 million km Mean Diameter of the Sun: 1.39 million km Ratio of 149.6/1.39 (rounded off to the nearest integer) = 108 The ancient yogis or sages measured life of a human on earth in terms of number of breaths. Average human respiratory rate : 15 breaths a minute Therefore in a day (24 hrs ) we breathe : 15 x 60 x 24 = 21600 = 108 x 200 breaths. Hence life is measured in multiples of 108 breaths. The Hindu rosary or religious beads consist of 108 beads with one extra bead the Meru bead. One complete rosary or mala involves the repetition of the prayer or mantra a 108 times. The 109th bead the Meru or summit acts as the guide. An important rule in this rosary used to do counting is not to cross over the Meru on completion of the 108 counts but to retrace and do the next mala commencing at the point of finish. Thus we work back and forth from the Meru. The Meru represents the Guru or Preceptor whose importance in any spiritual discipline for guidance is unsurpassed, and he should not be crossed in any circumstance. The 108 times that the mantra is repeated is to cleanse the 108 types of sins cleanse the vibrations of 108 breaths to reach out to the 108 forms of the God figure to ask the spiritual preceptor to guide the Atman or the human soul through 108 stages on the journey. Only through 108 breaths coordinated with 108 chants of a mantra will make the path of enlightenment come closer. A mortal is said to have 108 earthly desires, a human is associated with 108 lies and 108 human delusions. Multiples of 108 mantra chants are said to cleanse and spiritually uplift.

108 the God number of religious pursuit is the magic number coined by the Sages to solve the enigma of the universe and realize the maze of life and attain the state of Brahman.

Kubera and Goddess Lakshmi

According to Hindu mythology Kubera is the god of wealth and son of Sage Vishrava who is the son of Lord Brahma. Kubera is widely known as the gods appointed guardian of the treasures of the gods and the nine special treasures of indefinite significance. But he is also the King of Yakshas and one of the Ashta-Dikpalas, representing the north direction. He is also referred to as Kuvera, Kuber, Dhanapati and Vaisravana. Kubera's residence Lanka (which he captured from the Demons) was captured back by his half brother Ravana. When Ravana captured Lanka, Kubera moved to palace on Mount Kailash, in the Himalayas. Kubera is normally assumed as a dwarf with an ugly and deformed body having three legs, one eye smaller than the other and having only eight teeth. Because of his deformity Lord Brahma gifted him the Chariot Pushpak built by Vishwakarma, the architect of Gods. The magic Chariot Pushpak was stolen by Ravana and used for his misdeeds. This chariot, however, was handed back to him by

Lord Ram after defeating Ravana. As the God of wealth and material, his responsibilities are to distribute them while creating wealth is with Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that Kubera flies in his Pushpak to distribute wealth to his devotees assisted by the Kinnaras and their female counterparts, the Kinnoris. Kubera is said to have given a loan to Lord Venkateshwara for his marriage with Padmavati. According to the Vishnupuran the repayment will go on till the end of Kaliyuga. It is said that one who worships Kubera and Lakshmi together can never fall short of money and material comforts. By worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Kubera together brings prosperity to the devotee by drawing new avenues and sources of income. Special puja of Kubera is performed by Hindus on festivals like Deepawali, Dusshera and Dhantriyodasi.

Mantra Meditation for Wealth and Prosperity

The Hindu Goddess Lakshmi

The meditation I want to share with you uses an easy to learn mantra to attract wealth and prosperity through the positive energies of the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi (quite often spelled Laxmi). She governs many positive attributes including wealth, prosperity, courage, light, generosity and wisdom. Lakshmi is typically depicted as an extremely beautiful woman with four arms. Descriptions of Lakshmi vary somewhat. I will describe the most common form I have seen represented.

Lakshmi sits on a pink lotus flower which is floating on the water. The lotus on the water represents purity and spirituality, or transcendance. Growing out of the mud, it floats above it. The seated yoga meditation position called padmasana or in western terms, the lotus position, has its roots in the very same symbolism. The lotus can also be said to represent the evolution of conciousness. From the mire of consciousness it transcends into spiritual unity. Clothed in the finest garments and bedecked with jewels, gold coins of prosperity flow from her lower right hand. Her lower left hand is held in a meditative Mudra position. A Mudra is a symbolic positioning of the hand, fingers or body, there are traditionally 108 different Mudras. In many representations of Lakshmi you will see two elephants flanking her, spraying water. The elephants represent royalty, in Hindu symbolism elephants also remove obstacles. Her upper hands are holding perfect lotus flowers. Lakshmi is repeatedly associated with the lotus flower in Hindu lore. In the ancient text called the Mahabharata, it states that Lakshmi was born from a lotus which grew out of Vishnu's head. Vishnu is considered the supreme God in Hindu tradition. Laxmi's Dream
I first learned of the Laxmi meditation while listening to a compilation of meditation music by Caitlin called Laxmi's Dream: Sacred Mantras. The album is a collection of Hindu and Tibetan mantras passed on to her by her teacher. The mantras are repeated with beautiful singing by Caitlin and accompaniment with didgeridoo and various instruments by her husband Sika. Listening to Caitlin's sacred mantras is a powerful meditation in its own right. You can just drift and let the sounds infuse your being with peace and tranquility. I have used it to great effect to heal myself. It is the single most powerful collection of ancient Sanskrit and Tibetan mantras I have ever heard. Friends of mine who have listened to it all agree that it is exceptional. The Laxmi mantra in English writing looks like this: Om Shrim Maha Lakshmi Yei Swaha To pronounce it, it sounds like: Ohmm Shreem Maha Lok-Shmee Yayee Svahaa Om begins the mantra as a sacred exclamation, it precedes traditional mantras and prayers. Shrim is a vibration to attract abundance. Maha means great.

Laxmi represents the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. Swaha is another vibration that attracts abundance and prosperity.

Mantra Meditation Technique

To begin the meditation, find yourself a comfortable position where you will not be disturbed while you meditate. Ultimately you should be sitting in the full lotus position if you are able. However, I have read teachings from Hindu masters that indicate a half lotus is perfectly acceptable if the full lotus position makes you too uncomfortable (especially for Westerners who did not grow up in the lotus position). If for some reason you cannot be in the half lotus position, you may even perform the meditation seated with your spine comfortably straight. Meditating while lying down works too, though you may tend to fall asleep. The most important aspect of your body position during mantra meditation, is to have the spine straight so that the energy can flow easily through your chakras without being blocked. That is one of the reasons why the full lotus is so often used, it brings your body naturally into a good alignment. Take a deep breath and let your body relax. Then begin to repeat the mantra out loud or in your mind, whatever is comfortable for you. It is recommended to voice it out loud because you are creating a vibration of energy which resonates out into the Universe. Repeating the mantra in your mind also produces the same vibration, just with your thoughts instead of your voice. I have had good success repeating the mantra in my mind, and in my opinion, the vibrations of thought can be just as powerful as the vibrations of your voice. As you repeat the mantra, om shrim maha laxmi yei swaha, see Lakshmi in your mind. Visualize her gold coins of prosperity showering you in your life. Concentrate your awareness on Lakshmi, sometimes you might imagine her smiling as she bestows good fortune upon you. Let your breath flow naturally, as your mind calms down, your

breathing will slow, this is natural. Say the mantra 108 times with Love and Compassion in your heart. 108 is a very sacred number in Hindu tradition, all sanskrit mantras should be repeated 108 times for a complete meditation cycle. If you only have a short amount of time to meditate, 12 times is a good number, but 108 is the best. Even saying it 15 or 25 or 68 times is perfectly fine, sometimes the real world requires your attention or you may not be able to finish your complete meditation for some reason. Consider 108 repetitions as a meditative practice goal. It is nearly impossible to keep count while meditating, that is why prayer beads known as a Mala are used. You hold the mala necklace which has 108 beads and each time you say the mantra you move one more bead through your fingers until you get to the beginning of the mala again. It works incredibly well, freeing your mind to concentrate on meditating. As you meditate, you may find that your mind wanders onto other thoughts, gently move your mind back to Laxmi, or the mantra, or just nothingness. I have found it especially effective to just focus all of your attention on just saying the mantra. Try to find the time to perform the meditation about once per day for maximum benefit. When you really start to get good at it, mantra meditation can actually be addictive. Especially at the higher spiritual levels of consciousness, such as Yogi Masters attain, when they begin to experience bliss and unity. Seek balance, it is not necessary to spend *all* of your time in meditation. Namaste

The Science of Mantras

The word Mantra is a Sanskrit word, which when etymologically analysed, means to protect. There are millions of mantras, and each has a particular deity which is worshipped through the repetition of the mantra. Mantras are words of power and are used to achieve specific results, like good health, wealth, spiritual progress, psychic abilities and so on. The repetition of a mantra with concentration, faith and abiding with the instructions given by the Guru (the person who initiates you into the mantra), will definitely produce the desired results.

Does one need to be initiated, to practise a mantra? Yes. You cannot just practise a mantra, by reading it out of a book. The Guru is a person, who has gained mastery over the particular mantra, you want to practise. The Guru will initiate you into the mantra by whispering it, into your right ear, and also do one round of

the mantra on the Mala (rosary) you are going to use. There are certain mantras which are practised by people, on faith alone and they too can show results. But it is always advisable to get the mantra from a competent Guru, as the mantra has become alive by his practise, and he passes this down to you in the initiation. Also when the mantra is whispered in your ear, you will know the correct pronunciation and the way it is to be chanted.

How many times should a mantra be repeated? Each mantra has a specific number of repetitions, which when completed, will bear the desired results. This number of repetitions is called Purascharana, and usually it will depend on the number of syllables that a mantra has, excluding the Om which precedes all mantras. For example the mantra, Om Namah Shivaya, has five syllables (na, mah, shi, va, ya) and each syllable needs to be repeated 100,000 times. So the Purascharana for this particular mantra would be 500,000. After you have completed that many repetitions you will start seeing the results of the mantra in your life. A minimum of 108 repetitions should be done daily. Even after completion of a Purascharana, the mantra should be repeated 108 times daily to maintain its power.

Why does the mantra, not give any results even after the prescribed repetitions have been completed? There can be many reasons for this. One of the main reason could be, that you have not been initiated into the mantra by a proper Guru. Another reason could be irregular practise and poor concentration while repeating the mantra. Karma (results of past lives) also plays a major part in the success of a mantra. If you have an accumulation of bad karma, it will stop the effect of the mantra from taking place. In such cases, it is advised to do the Purascharana, repeatedly until the results start manifesting in one's life. Sometimes it can also be seen that you start manifesting the results even before you have completed the Purascharana. This is because, you may have practised this mantra in your previous life and completed the required repetition in this life. How should a mantra be practised? The Guru will guide you into the practise of the mantra, but there are certain general guidelines which one can follow.

What should be the posture and seating arrangement, and which direction to face?

Any comfortable sitting posture, where the spine is held erect, is good. For people who cannot sit cross-legged, even sitting on a chair is fine as long as you hold your spine in a straight line, and do not get too comfortable and start relaxing. You can face the East or North directions, when you do your mantra practise. A folded woolen blanket will make an ideal seat, for practising the repetition of mantras. If you are sitting on a chair, do not let your feet directly touch the floor, and put a woolen mat underneath them.

Rudraksha Rosary

Tulsi Beads Rosary

Should the mantra be chanted aloud? What should one visualize, or concentrate upon, while chanting the mantra? Mantras should not be practised with an irreverent attitude, or with an attitude to find out if a mantra will work or not. Practise the mantra, only if you have full faith in it, and approach it with reverence. The most powerful way of practising the mantra is to chant it mentally with full concentration. You can visualize the form of the Deity of the mantra, as vividly as possible. You can give life and color to your visualisation, and see the Deity smiling lovingly at you. Visualisation will keep your mind from wandering and will also keep boredom at bay. Some people like to just be aware of the sound of the mantra as it is being chanted, and this is very good, but this can be practised by someone who has gained a fair amount of mastery over his mind. If you find that in the beginning it is difficult to maintain your concentration, you can chant the mantra aloud. But you should

strive to come to the point, where you can chant the mantra mentally without any distraction, as the mental repetition is the most potent. It is always better to do a small ritual to worship the Deity of the mantra, before you start the repetitions, so that your mind is gets attuned to the Deity.

Lotus Seed Rosary

What type of Mala (rosary) should one use to maintain the count of the mantra? The Mala will depend upon the Deity of the mantra. If you are doing a Shiva mantra, then a Mala made of Rudraksha beads is ideal. If you are chanting a Lakshmi mantra a Mala of Lotus seeds would be the best. Narayana or Vishnu mantras are best done with a Tulsi Mala.

How to hold the Mala (rosary)? The Mala should ideally have 108 beads for keeping the count. There will be, one more larger bead, in the middle to indicate the completion of one round of 108 chants of the mantra. This is called the Meru and should never be crossed. If you are planning to do more than one round of repetitions, start moving the Mala in the opposite direction, once you reach the Meru. The Mala should be held in the right hand, draped over the middle

finger. The thumb should be used to move the beads and the index finger should not be used in any way. Mantras are potent words of power that are in the holy scriptures of all religions and were discovered by holy sages. Mantras have been repeated by millions of people throughout the ages, and this sheer volume of repetitions gives and maintains the power of the mantra. One cannot imagine the power one can possess, by practising the different mantras, and the result of the practise will be there in all the lifetimes that one has to undergo.

Sri Yantra or Sri Chakra

Sri Yantra or Sri Chakra is a divine instrument that absorbs cosmic energy. It is popularly mistaken to be a symbol of Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and wealth. Sri Yantra is actually a representation of Lalitha Mahatripurasundari or Parvathi, the consort of Lord Shiva. The term Sri is used to denote the reverence to be given to the holy Yantra. The Sri Chakra is often referred as King of all Chakras (the Chakra Raja) or a supreme instrument in the path of spiritual advancement. It possesses the power to purify mind and body of humans. It is also used an instrument to ward off evil and get rid of witchcraft spells. Sri Yantra is a divine storehouse of energy which absorbs cosmic rays from the magnetosphere of the Earth, the planets and other objects in the universe. The yantra transforms the cosmic rays into constructive or positive vibrations which are then

transmitted to the surroundings. It has a power to destroying all destructive forces within the vicinity. The supreme hidden powers can be noticed within a short span of time. Sri Adi Shankaracharya, commonly known as Shankaracharya consecrated and installed the Sri Yantra in various temples across India. Shankaracharya was born in 788 CE at Kalady of present day Kerala state, India. He attained Jeeva Samadhi(entered the tomb alive) at Kedarnath, Pala Empire, the present day Uttarakhand in 820 CE

People residing in some places of south India are often troubled by witchcraft spells. A few sorcerers in Andhra and Kerala are active in casting spells. One can feel depressed with nightmares and insomnia because of the spell cast on him/her. A private TV channel, TV-9 recorded a persons horrifying experience. A lawyer by name Siddegowda experienced a peculiar kind of problem. He, his wife and children started hearing voices within their house. A strange shadow always followed his wife

while she was moving around at home. In the night, after they went to bed they heard as if someone wearing anklets was moving all along the house. The ringing sound of anklets never allowed them to sleep. Kitchen ware and utensils fell down by itself. Scratch marks were seen on his wifes body. When she woke up from her sleep she had scratch marks on her face and body. There was also a bit of facial swelling. He approached many sorcerers to get rid of this problem but all his efforts went in vain. He consulted astrologers and visited many temples thinking that he might get some relief. But nothing worked for him. After some days, Siddegowdas children also suffered from the same problem. Siddegowda had problems within his stomach. He had acute pain and most of the time vomited whatever he ate. All these strange conditions at home made him and his wife scream at night. All the family members thought of committing suicide. They were also in search of a permanent solution for all the problems. In front of TV cameras he shared all his experiences and stated that only the person who suffers knows how horrible the experience really is. As an educated person he never believed in evil spirits and witchcraft spells. But later he was forced to believe all this. He came to know from astologers that his relatives were the main cause of the trouble. They did not want him to prosper and grow. They had cast a spell of Bhanamathi, a deadly witchcraft, through a sorcerer from Andhra region. Kshanambika temple at Srirangapatna

Siddegowdas problem solved

Siddegowdas friend gave him a suggestion. He told him to go to an ancient temple which was thousands of years old. It was located in Mandya district, southern part of Karnataka state. The place is none other than Srirangapatna where the most audacious king of Mysore, Tipu Sultan had built his summer palace. It is situated about 14km from Mysore and 125km from Bangalore. At the heart of the Srirangapatna, the Kshanambika Temple is located. It was Sri Shankaracharya, a great yogi with supernatural powers who consecrated and installed the Sri Yantra in front of the Goddess Kshanambika, in this temple. It has divine powers and grants wishes to people who come to seek the blessings of the goddess. Siddegowda went to the temple along with his family and wept bitterly before the Yantra. His problems were solved in no time. He never experienced such deep trouble again.

Giants tomb of Dorgali at Sardinia

Giants tomb of Dorgali at Sardinia has been popular for the magnetic field around it. The magnetic field is powerful enough and releases positive energy. Angela Corrias, an Italian journalist specializing in travel writing has a blog - In Atlantis, in a Giants tomb where she reveals her personal experience. She has mentioned clearly in her blog - Many people take the Giants' Tomb as a place to restore from daily stress and go there to absorb some of the energies that our ancestors managed to identify in those strategic spots. It is indeed true that positive energy is released from some of the ancient and sacred tombs.

Tombs of saints who attained Jeeva Samadhi

In southern India there are too many sacred tombs which not only give out positive energy but also have healing powers. Ancient times have witnessed enough of Jeeva Samadhi in this part of the world. Jeeva means alive and Samadhi means tomb. Of course, a higher level of concentrated meditation or dhyana is also called as Samadhi . But here the meaning of Samadhi is related to the tomb. Jeeva Samadhi is attained by a person imbued with eternal life force after his kundalini gets awakened through prolonged meditation and by gaining yogic powers. Kundalini is best explained in my hub - Supernatural powers and Indian Yogis in the Himalayas .

How people gain positive energy:

1. They need to have faith in the person who has entered the tomb alive. It is very much like having the faith and belief in god himself. 2. The person who wants to get his desires fulfilled wakes up before sunrise i.e. between 5.30 - 6.00AM. 3. Takes a head bath either in a nearby lake, river or water body. 4. Wears dry and clean clothes after the bath.

5. Fasting is done by most of the people who want to please the guru. If at all food is taken, never take non - vegetarian as food on that particular day. 6. In some places they allow to bath the tomb with the river water or milk. In some places devotees are not allowed to go near the tomb and always a gap is maintained so that the person inside the tomb doesnt get disturbed. 7. Chanting begins with the name of the Guru(saint). For example if its Raghavendra, the chanting mantra will be Sri Raghavendraya Namah . 8. Circumambulate the tomb 108 times. Or with a rosary in hand meditate sitting on a straw carpet. The main intension here is body shouldnt have direct contact with the ground while meditating. If body touches the ground the power gained by meditation will be lost to the earth below. One round rosary has 108 beads. With image of the Guru present in mind or directly gazing at the tomb with total concentration chant the mantra for 108 times. 9. Never divert the attention or leave for any other work until the mantra is uttered 108 times. 10. On some week days such as Thursday is believed to be very auspicious to please the Gurus in the tomb. On these days the mantra chanting will be very fruitful. The intent behind Jeeva Samadhi

By spiritual practices, the person who attains Jeeva Samadhi has control over his breath and doesnt allow the body to die. Hence the body cells don't get damaged. Functioning of the body is stopped by his / her own will. The person in samadhi fixes the mind permanently with the supreme god and stops functioning. Then a tomb is built around the person who sits still without breathing. Body never gets decayed even after thousands of years. Magnetic force and positive energy acts as a life force in the body. Sometimes the time limit for the samadhi status depends upon the saint's bio-magnetic strength, which may vary in terms of hundreds of years. Until then, the soul of the person in samadhi state will continue to bless the devotees. As an invisible helper or Unseen master, guides the human race for their well-being.

Brindavan the sacred tomb at Mantralaya

Great yogis, gurus and sacred people with their miracles had changed the minds of people in society at that time. Their words and deeds had enough power to mesmerize everyone around them. After they felt they had done enough for the people and society they attained Jeeva Samadhi on an auspicious day. For the outside world they had passed away to a heavenly abode. But their souls were still alive and created miracles every now and then. One such well known Saint is Guru Raghavendra Swamy. During the period between 1595 and 1671 he lived as one of the most respected Hindu saints. He is well-known for preaching the vaishnavism(worship of Vishnu as the supreme God) and Sri Madhvacharya's Dvaita philosophy. He ascended Brindavana(his Jeev Samadhi) at Mantralayam in present day Andhra Pradesh state in the year 1671. Before he attained the Jeeva Samadhi he had advised his disciples to start arranging slabs and build the walls of the tomb around him once the rolling of rosary beads by fingers in his hand become still. Mantralayam is now a pilgrimage destination. People believe that he would help the society and mankind to come-out from troubles and miseries for nearly 700 years. His tomb Brindavan to this day has positive energy around it and has created countless miracles.

Raghavendra Swamy and Sir Thomas Munro during the British Colonial rule:
Sir Thomas Munro, a Collector at Bellary in Karnataka State had come across an apparition of Raghavendra Swamy. This incident took place in the year 1801. He recorded in the Madras Districts Gazetteer as having spoken with Raghavendra Swamy in English over an endowment proposal. He had to ultimately quash the proposal as per the Swamy's advice. Munro also served as the Governor of Madras(Chennai) later.

Sant Jnaneshwar of Alandi, Maharashtra

Great saint Sant Jnaneshwar, also known as Jnanadeva, is well known for writing the Jnaneshwari, a commentary on Bhagavadgeetha. He was a great saint who lived in Maharashtra state of India. Born in 1275 A.D. at a place by name Alandi. Jnanadeva also wrote many abhangas (devotional songs) to Lord Vithala(Lord Vishnu's another form).

Both Sant Namdev and Jnanadev went on a pilgrimage to northern India. On their return to Alandi it was 13th day of the dark fortnight of Karthika month (according to Hindu calendar) in the year 1296, Jnanadev entered into a cave alive and it was closed like a tomb. People believe that his brother and sister followed him into samadhi within a year and a half. A temple was constructed there and thousands of devotees visit the place even today. He was just 21 years old when he attained Jeev samadhi.

Navabrindavan ( Nine sacred tombs) Navabrindavan at Anegondi

Anegondi is a small village located on the north banks of the Tungabhadra river in Koppal district of Karnataka state. It is on the opposite bank of the Vittala Temple. Anegondi was once the capital of Vijayanagara Empire. Nine of the later saints of Madhvacharya's order are eternally resting and still alive in the Navabrindavan(the nine sacred tombs). After midnight men on ferry who move around the place have experienced seeing the spirits of these saints in the form a brilliant glowing light or sometimes also as humans. The nine saints residing in the sacred tombs are: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Sri Padmanabha Tirtha Sri Jayathirtha/Sri Raghuvarya Sri Kavindra Thirtha Sri Vageesha Thirtha Sri Vyasaraja Thirtha Sri Sreenivasa Thitha Sri Rama Thirtha Sri Sudheendra Thirtha Sri Govinda Odeyaru

Tourists reach Navabrindavan by ferries in the summer season. The place is unreachable during rainy season. Many temples in Tamilnadu and Andhara Pradesh have one or more Jeev Samadhi in their locality. People get relieved from stress and feel better when they visit such Temples. So they are gaining more popularity. These sacred tombs formed around the shrines are believed to possess good magnetic fields. Worshippers experience peace of mind and desires are fulfilled. There are many instances of miracles that took place after having prayed at such tombs. Jeeva Samadhi places in and around Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh states:

Swastika Meaning and Significance

Swastika is perhaps the most controversial symbol in history. The swastika is an ancient symbol and very common in India. According to Wikipedia a Svastika is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles in either right-facing form or its mirrored leftfacing form. At times dots are also seen added between the arms. It is a religious symbol associated with Indian Culture and religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism and Buddhism. In India this symbol is also used in the electoral ballet papers. One may also remember this as the Symbol of Nazism. Swastik is believed to be an amalgam of the words Su and Asati. Su means 'good' and Asati meant 'to exist'. Therefore combined it means well-being, good fortune, luck, auspicious etc. This word is also seen spelled as suastika, swastika, sauwastika and svastica.

Swastika in Hinduism
Swastika symbol has a lot of relevance for people in India and has been used since Vedic times and for over 3,000 years. Swastika is considered to be a mark of auspiciousness and good fortune. Though, Swastik sign is adopted by people of all religions, but it is especially popular amongst the Hindus. The Swastika is considered extremely holy and auspicious by all Hindus and is regularly used to decorate items related to Hindu culture. For Hindus, the four limbs of Swastika denotes 4 Vedas( Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda), 4 Goals of life (virtue, success, pleasure and release from the world), 4 Stages of Life (Student, Householder, Retired person and Ascetic), 4 Directions (North, South, East and West), 4 Seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter), 4 Eras (Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga), 4 Social classes (Priests, Warriors, Merchants and Workers) and 4 Paths of Yoga (Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga and Raja Yoga).

The reference to this symbol can be found in Vedas and Upanishads. Swastik symbol is quite often seen used in the art and architecture of Hindus. It is used in Hindu Temples, Puja Rituals, Yantras, Wedding Cards, Doorways, clothing and jewellery. In India, the Swastika is used in two forms, the right-handed Swastika and the left-handed Swastika. These two symbols represent the two forms of the creator Lord Brahma. The right-hand swastika is one of the 108 symbols of the god Vishnu. However, some people also believe that the two types of Swastik represent the two aspects - masculine and feminine. Swastik is also associated with Lord Ganesha and this Hindu Deity is often shown sitting on a lotus flower on a bed of swastikas or the symbol on his palms. Swastika design is drawn on the floor of Hindu Households to invoke Lord Ganeshas blessings especially during festivals like Vinayaka Chaturthi. It is also the Symbol of the Sun God and represents in the rotation of its arms the course taken daily by the Sun and the Sign of rebirth. The Swastik Symbol is widely used in Feng Shui and Vastu Shastra as a Symbol of auspiciousness, good fortune and protection.

In the minds of many, this feat may seem impossible at times. Similarly, its been thought impossible to ever come upon a science of everything. However, with the emergence of quantum mechanics, the understandings of the human biofield and other research endeavors, we are finally realizing that our path has always been bringing us towards a unified truth of existence. The field of Psychology in particular is on course towards a ground breaking shift at this time. It will prove to be the largest since the unconscious mind was accepted into research as an integral part for understanding the totality of ourselves. This shift will bring about changes in the ways we perceive humanity, and how we approach what are currently considered to be mere psychological ailments.

Two key aspects of this shift are the integration of what quantum physics research posits for our understanding of reality and the existence of a life force energy, called by various names throughout the world and throughout time. This life force energy courses through our bodies and emanates from us, creating what is called a biofield. The Western World has been slow to assimilate with this knowledge, or to take it seriously. Until now, that is. Beverly Rubik, PhD wrote in her article Exploring the Biofield Hypothesis that The term "biofield" has been accepted by the US National Library of Medicine as a medical subject heading search (MESH) term. The biofield that each human possesses is unique to their state of being at any given time. This state concerns the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects. Rubik quotes Biophysicist Chang-Lin Zhang as considering it a field of standing waves that form the energy anatomy, including the chakras and acupuncture meridians. Bioelectromagnetism has been used in Psychology since Electroencephalography (EEG) was developed to test the neural activity in the brain. This energy being recorded is one step towards the understanding across all scientific fields that everything is energy, but it is not enough. Engineer Savely Savva believes that the biofield is more than electromagnetism, and involves a nonphysical mental component that carries the information of intention and the psychic realm. Biofield science is one thing, but as Savely Savva added, this is more than mere electric energy being released by our cells and organs. Perhaps one of the best examples of what effect intention can have on matter can be seen in the research of Dr. Masaru Emoto.

Source: Dr. Masaru Emoto's Research Through the experiments with intention on crystallized water molecules, Dr. Masaru Emoto and his team were able to deduce that water molecules respond to the vibrations that thoughts are composed of. Depending on the exposure to music, spoken or written words, photographs or thoughts from a remote location, a specific response was achieved from the crystallized water molecule.

Considering the amount of water in the human body, Dr. Emotos research has shown that regardless of our conscious awareness of this fact, we can and do affect the well being of our physical bodies with our states of consciousness. Photographs of the crystallized water molecules, the experiment and results thereof can be found at Dr. Emotos website and through his book Messages From Water. What is even more fascinating in the latest research is the effect of our own attention, our very consciousness, on the manifestation of matter itself. We have all experienced times when increased focus on a particular issue, object, idea, or person, has seemed to manifest more of that into our experience. Is this just mere coincidence, or is there more in terms of the energetic flow of our reality that we have not yet explored? Perhaps this is where quantum mechanics comes into play. One problem quantum physicists come in contact with in their research has been termed the measurement problem. Best described by David Albert in his 1992 publication Quantum Mechanics and Experience, The dynamics and the postulate of collapse are flatly in contradiction with one another ... the postulate of collapse seems to be right about what happens when we make measurements, and the dynamics seems to be bizarrely wrong about what happens when we make measurements, and yet the dynamics seems to be right about what happens whenever we aren't making measurements. This measurement problem was expressed in the famous Double-slit experiment, where the wave-particle duality was shown. This means that a subatomic particle will only act as a particle when it is being observed, otherwise, it acts as a wave and is in a state of superposition, aka: multiple places at the same time. It is only until the observer steps into the equation that the superposition collapses into a singular position in space/time. It becomes fairly obvious to us at this point that we should integrate this information into the field of Psychology, Human Physiology, and how we perceive reality as a whole. So, what does this all mean for Psychology, the study of humanity, and understanding our reality, if we really do construct it ourselves, and our place in the Universe? Well, it means it is all a matter of perspective, almost literally! What we personally believe is what matters. As far as we know, the meaning of life is the meaning we individually give life. Now it simply comes down to choice, of using our free will to decide what we will create from the infinite possibilities quantum physics is demonstrating we have. The newly developing field of Energy Psychology takes into account the life force energy, (aka: orgone energy first discovered by Wilhelm Reich in the 1930s, the Chinese Chi, Japanese Ki, and the Sanskrit Prana) and the Human Energy Body. Though Energy Psychology is still considered New Age by many, it incorporates knowledge from other sciences and is proving to be an incredibly useful outlook for the treatment of various ailments. If humanity ever wishes to release ourselves from a victim consciousness of reality being out of our control, a more holistic view must be conceived. More studies on the fundamental energy of all that is manifest and still potential, the nature of consciousness,

intention and their effects on matter, all will prove to have a completing role in the development of a unified theory. Understanding how these factors play out in our realities will eventually lead to the knowledge of how we can create and live the experience of existence we so desire.
