Which college to join after class 12th ?
By :Dr. Trilok Kumar JainDean, ISBM (International School of Business Management)Suresh Gyan Vihar University Jaipurwww.gyanvihar.org Isbm@gyanvihar.org9414430763 There is a turning point in the life of every student. It is a hugedifference from being in class 12th and being in class 13 (first year). Theenvironment completely changes. As a student of class 12th, there is adisciplined system of academic excellence and the student is expected toprogress in a prescribed manner. The system is well regulated and wellestablished. This is not the case with the colleges. The variance amongcollege is huge and striking. There are colleges, which are known forexcellence and there are also colleges, which convert any raw student into arogue. There are colleges where there is proper discipline and regulatedsystem of governance, there are opposite extremes also - where there is noregulation, no attendance, and no discipline.70 to 80% students opt for arts and commerce discipline, which areunfortunately most unregulated and lack proper order of discipline. Thesestudents fail to get a very well established system of administration, laboratories, regulated academics and spirit of excellence. Engineering, medicine and professional education offers excellent laboratories andregulated system of academics, but arts and commerce education lack allthese. It is really unfortunate that what 80% of the country needs, has beenneglected and discarded so far. What we find is that most of the arts andcommerce colleges are only platforms for political parties (where students areregular only for election purpose and there are no other practical courses).Everyone knows what kind of election systems are we adopting in colleges.Everyone know about what kind of learning do we impart to your younggeneration. Everyone knows about wastage of three importat years of youththrough these BA and B.Com. courses being run casually by most colleges.Gyan Vihar University, which was focussing on professional education till now,has now made an entry into arts and commerce education also. This is withan intention to bring about transformation of arts and commerce education.
