Environmental Elective

Final Project
Overview: We have studied deforestation from different perspectives: literature, ecosystem, geography, business & economy, and technology. Now its your turn! The purpose of the final project is to help you understand the environmental issues more deeply while giving you the opportunity to practice your presentation skills and collaboration work. Date: July 31st (Wednesday) *NOTE: This project should be done by PAIRS. Topic: Choose one of the environmental issues below: (Please contact Takako if you want to choose a different environmental issue) Air pollution Climate change Water issues Animal distinction Fossil fuel problem Soil erosion You and your partner need to research your topic on the Internet or in the library in order to give a presentation to the rest of the class. Time limit: Presentation should be 10 15 minutes. Your presentation must include the following items: Introduce at least 2 different perspectives to discuss the environmental issues. Include at least one activity/exercise to involve your audience in learning the topic; for example, o A quiz o Discussion questions You and your partner should help with the research, planning, and presentation. Keep track of the website/books you use to get information on your topic and include your sources in your presentation. Use this format to list your sources: Name of Author/Organization. (Year of Publication). Title. Retrived from: website URL. *NOTE: You have preparation time next week during the class. (30 40 minutes on Monday & 1 hour on Tuesday)
