Since 2008, the Arts Council of Mongolia (ACM) has been successfully implementing their Fellowship program with the generous support of ACM-US. The program is designed to empower emerging cultural leaders by enhancing their leadership, management and marketing skills, and deepening their understanding of cultural policy, arts advocacy, and other related issues. Thus far, ACM has completed five phases with sixty seven arts & cultural managers and artists who currently work in visual art, performing art, literature, cultural heritage sites, media, press and arts administration fields. Over the course of the program, young leaders participate in trainings from leading Mongolian and international experts on such topics as arts management, leadership, arts policy, intellectual property, creative industry, and arts marketing. Eligibility The ACM Fellowship program is open to Mongolian emerging art leaders (artists & art managers) involved in state, private and NGOs dealing with broad range of cultural development. Interested candidates should consider the following criteria: Able to demonstrate a proven record of professional activity over at least two years Between 25-35 years of age Selection process & criteria for selection ACM Project team will identify
up to 15 of the best applications to be part of the fellowship program according the following selection criteria: Up to two years of successful professional experience in arts administration or up to three community arts projects for an artists Applicants ability and commitment to share and disseminate knowledge, materials, and experience gained from the program with their colleagues Current employment at any state, private and nonprofit arts organization Strong organizational commitment to support its staff to be enrolled in the program Ability to apply gained knowledge and experiences for the development of Mongolian arts and culture A strong commitment working in arts or cultural institutions in the future A strong commitment to building a national and global network of arts and culture professionals. Ability to present and promote arts and culture in Mongolia and abroad, if appropriate Knowledge of basic English language is preferable Applications are due to the Arts Council of Mongolia no later than August 31, 2013. -In case of an industrial accident, what organization should an insurer apply to for an accident determination document? -A voluntary insurer should inform the aimag or soum or district social insurance department (officer) about the industrial accident in which he/she was involved. A commission appointed by the governor of the aimag, soum, district will investigate the accident and develop an accident determination document. -How are prenatal and postnatal allowances issued? -Prenatal and postnatal allowances are issued on the basis of records in the social insurance book and hospital record book for 4 months from the allowance insurance fund. Allowances are assessed with respect to withholdings paid for the last 12 months of the average 70 percent of salary or similar income. -Does an employee, who is employed temporarily for a permanent position have to pay withholdings for income tax from his salary? -According to law, withholdings for income tax are paid from the salary of an employee employed in a permanent position regardless of the fact that he is engaged temporarily. -Who is entitled to get social care allowances? -According to the Law on Social insurance, the following citizens who are not entitled to retirement pension, shall get social care allowances: 1) Males above 60 years old and females above 55 years old; 2) Lilliputian who reached 16 years old; 3) Disabled person over 16 years old that lost work ability of more than 50 percent; 4) Minor up to 18 years who lost their earner; 5) Female over 45 or male over 50 who is a head of household. -What documents are necessary for the disabled to be determined to get disability pension? -The following documents are necessary for the disabled to get a disability pension: 1. National ID; 2. Social Insurance Book of the citizen; 3. Confirmation document of the Clinical and Labor Verification Commission. -How do we get a burial allowance? The Law on Pensions and allowances from the Social insurance fund provides that in case an insurer who has paid allowance insurance withholdings for a total of no less than 36 months dies due to usual illness or domestic accident, a burial allowance is to be issued for his/her burial. In case of death of an insurer due to industrial accident or professional sickness, the burial allowance is issued regardless of the term of withholdings payment, and in case of death of a citizen who has been issued pensions or allowances specified in the Law on Social insurance, a burial allowance is issued for his/her burial. -What requirements should be met in order to get unemployment allowance? -A citizen is entitled to get unemployment allowance provided that they paid unemployment insurance withholdings for 24 months, including 9 months of continuous payment. For the person, who had been previously issued an unemployment allowance, they are entitled to get the allowance and be involved in professional training provided he/she has paid unemployment insurance withholdings for 6 months.

The 6th annual Time and Space Nomadic Arts Residency Program will take place this August, organized by the ACM in partnership with the Arts Korea of Council (ARKO), to promote cultural and creative exchange between Korean and Mongolian artists and to increase the use of the arts in facilitating positive social changes. This year six Mongolian and six Korean artists will create artworks
The Red Ger Art Gallery was established in 2003 to promote Mongolian fine arts domestically and internationally, and to support long-term sustainability of the culture sector by providing a market platform for artists. Over its ten years of operation, the Red Ger Art Gallery has showcased the work of several famous and young emerging artists and is an invaluable resource for trainings and public lectures the ACM organizes to build the capacity of Mongolian arts and culture professionals. The Red Ger Art Gallery opened at its current location in October 2012 and is located on the first floor of the main Khan Bank building on Seoul Street-25. The Red Ger Art Gallery is open
Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and entrance is free. This month, we are proud to feature two international collaborations. From August 9 to 11, the Time and Space Nomadic Arts Residency Program will hold a final exhibition to highlight the work produced collaboratively by 6 Mongolian and 6 Korean artists during their residency in Umnugobi Aimag. From August 26 to September 8, the Thinking Landscapes joint Mongolian-Japanese exhibition will be on display at the Red Ger, with a special lecture and artists discussion. New collections are on display every month. Paintings and sculptures are available for purchase, with 70 percent of the sale
price going directly to the artist and 30 percent going to the Arts Council of Mongolias Arts Program, which supports art and cultural development in Mongolia.
