Project Title: “CASLINGUISTIKA: Unleashing Full Potentials” Delving into the magical
realms for Arts, Culture, and Language.”

Date and Time: February 9, 2023


Venue: UNIVERSITY OF ST. LASALLE

Project Description: The College of Arts and Sciences is a college that embodies and
revitalizes the Artian spirit in the realms of culture, arts, and inclusivity.For years, the College
positively impacts the Lasallian community through inclusivity in diversity with events that cater
to the interest of the student body. The project “CASLINGUISTIKA FIESTA: CAScading
Dreams” is a celebration of Arts, culture, and talent. The event shall consist and divided into
different aspects in promoting the essence of creativity, socio-political awareness, advocacies,
traditions, awarding, and a channel in showcasing the skills of the Artian students.

Project Objectives
● This project aims to promote and enhance the skills of the Artians in different aspects
such as their artistic skills,creativity and to foster the goal of inclusivity, not only in the
Artian community but also for the Lasallian community.
● The event will highlight the diversity of language, culture, and traditions to maneuver an
impact towards the Lasallian Students.
● This will showcase the Artian’s skills in writing, acting, arts, singing, and dancing through
literature and theater.
● The event will also be a get together, and acquaintance party of all the students from the
College of Arts and Sciences.

Activity Description: CASLINGUISTIKA will be held on February 9, 2023. This event shall
consist of a fashion show, art exhibit, art competition, and other activities that will showcase the
Artians potential and talents.
List of Activities:

● Creative fashion & Sustainable fashion show competition: Featuring Sustainable


Fashion
● Art Exhibit or Art Competition: An Art exhibit that will mainstream social issues and
advocacies.
● Freestyle Dancing Competition: A dance competition where participants must dance
spontaneously with any music without any prepared choreography.
● Impromptu Speaking: Impromptu speaking is the art of delivering a speech or
addressing a topic without prior preparation or rehearsal.
● Enchanted Musical Drama Performance: The actors from the Lasallian Week 2023
Musical Drama shall perform on stage with the extended version of the script for the
Lasallians/Artians.
● Lady Gaga: From the L-Week Your Face Sounds Familiar Champion will perform once
again on stage.

EVENT AND ACTIVITY GUIDELINES:

ACTIVITY TITLE: “Sparkle with Style” : Crafting A Sustainable Legacy.

Pride and Creative fashion show competition: Featuring Sustainable Fashion. The College
of Arts and Sciences will organize a fashion show competition with the target of having 20
participants where students can showcase their creativity by designing and modeling outfits that
represent LGBTQai+ pride, diversity and other sustainable fashion clothing styles. This fashion
show competition is open for all lasallians including clubs, student organizations, and interested
individuals.

Guidelines and Mechanics: “Fashion Show”


● The participants may be either male, female, or any gender that they identify themselves
with.
● Open to all Bonafide Students of the University of St. Lasalle.
● Each participant must present an outfit or style that coordinates with the theme.
● There will be a maximum of 20 participants.
● The design of the outfit must be related to sustainable fashion and materials.
● The designer would either choose a model for the design made or they could be the
model of their own masterpiece. Note if the designer opts to model their own design, the
participants must abide by the University’s protocol, such as the University’s dress code
policy. Recycled materials, improvised outfits, paints, and any materials as long as it
could not cause damage nor harm are allowed.
● There will be a Q and A portion of the event which will be a part of the criteria for judging.
● The participants can improvise their own wardrobe clothes and make it something new.
● Each participant must prepare an introduction speech as well as a description of their
outfit, along with the elements of its designs.
● The participants shall have their styled outfits checked by the council/ the Department of
Cultural Affairs 5 days before the event.

Winners shall receive the following prizes:


First Place: 1000 Php
Second Place: 500 Php
Third Place: 300 Php

Criteria for Judging

Mastery, Q and A, and delivery of the speech introduction 20%


Poise and Bearing 30%
Costume details, creativity, and Design 45%
Audience Impact 5%

Total: 100%

ACTIVITY TITLE: "Bridging the Gap: Nurturing Inclusivity in our Communities"

Impromptu Speaking: The theme for this impromptu speaking shall delve into the specific
scenarios, where speakers can discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with
reducing inequalities within and among countries. The speakers could touch upon the role of
education, policies, and community engagement in creating a more equitable and just society.
This topic centralizing the SDG number 10 of the UN will provide a platform for discussing the
significance of embracing diversity and working collectively to bridge the gap between different
socio-economic groups.

Guidelines and Mechanics


● The Participants must fill out the registration form provided on January 15, 2024 -
January 31, 2023.
● Allowed participants must be a Bonafide student of the University of St. Lasalle, enrolled
in the first semester of the Academic Year 2023-2024.
● The questions or topic provided for the participants shall be related to the theme
provided by the organizers.
● Topics shall be provided by the organizers.
● There will be a minimum of 8 participants. The registration will be a first come first serve
basis.
● There shall be a 3 minutes preparation for each participant and there will be a 3 minutes
time duration for the contestants to answer the given topic.
● If the contestant overlapped the time given, in every 15 seconds there will be a 1 point
deduction.
● The organizers will be providing a time tracker for the activity to ensure fairness among
the participants.
● Formal or corporate attire must be worn by all the contestants.
● Participants are encouraged to use respectful use of words or language.
● Use of inappropriate, vulgar, or offensive language shall not be tolerated and will result in
disqualification.
● If any of the contestants failed to adhere the specified guidelines shall be sanctioned
with a point deduction or disqualification.
● The order of the speaker shall be determined through draw lots, 15 minutes prior to the
competitions embarks.
● The contestants shall arrive 20 minutes before the event begins.
● Contestants garnering the highest score from the point system tabulation shall be held
as champion and will receive 1500 pesos and there will be 2 runners up and shall
receive 500 pesos and 300 pesos consecutively.

Winners shall receive:


1st Place - 1000 pesos
2nd Place - 500 pesos
3rd Place - 300 pesos

ACTIVITY TITLE: “The Waves Underneath.”

“FreeStyle Dancing”: Dancers must explore and express the unseen, the intangible, and the
hidden aspects of life through their movements. It opens the door for creativity and
interpretation, allowing dancers to delve into the abstract, the emotional, and the mystical
realms.

Guidelines and Mechanics

● The participants must be a Bonafide student of the University of St. Lasalle enrolled in
the College of Arts and Sciences Department.
● The participant must register through a google form provided by the CAS council on or
before January 31, 2023.
● Health survey form shall also be provided to the applicant to ensure their safety along
the competition.
● The FreeStyle Dancing competition shall be conducted on February 9, 2023.
● The Music will be played randomly and the participant must dance along with the music
being played by the production team.
● The College of Arts and Science Council shall limit the number of participants to 10.
● First Round: The participants must dance individually for 1 minute.
● Second Round: There will be a dance duo showdown from each participant dancing to 5
different kinds of songs in 5 minutes. Which shall also be the elimination round with
choosing only the top 6 contestants.
● Third Round: Shall be the final showdown whereas the 6 finalists must dance to a song
played spontaneously by the organizers for another 3 minutes.

Top 3 shall be chosen having the title as the Champion, 1st Runner- up and 2nd Runner- up.
First Place: 1000 Php
Second Place: 500 Php
Third Place: 300Php

RAFFLE DRAW MECHANICS


1 purchased ticket is equivalent to 2 raffle tickets.
Those who availed themselves the ticket to attend the event will have the chance to win prizes
from the raffle draw.
1 raffle ticket shall cost 15 pesos each.
1 stab (10 raffle tickets) shall cost 100 pesos each.
