CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

1. ELIGIBILITY:

The Contest is open only to individuals who, (a) are enrolled as official students at De La Salle John Bosco College
(DLSJBC) By participating in the Contest, each Entrant represents and warrants that he or she meets these eligibility
requirements and has read, accepts, and will comply with these official rules (the “Official Rules”), and
acknowledges that any violation of these Official Rules may disqualify Entrant from the Contest.

2. CONTEST PERIOD:

The Contest entry period will start on February 8, 2022 at 8:00 AM and end on February 9, 2022at 3:00 PM PST
(“Contest Period”). All entries must be submitted during the Contest Period to be eligible to be a Winner.

3. HOW TOJOIN:

To join the Contest,


(1) post an original video to your TikTok account with the content that is in line with the theme. You may use your
story or journey as a student promoting the positive spirit and character of being a Lasallian student.

4. WINER DETERMINATION, NOTIFICATION, & PRIZE CLAIMING:

A panel of qualified judges from TikTok (the “Contest Judges”), will select the Winners during the Judging Period
based on the following criteria: the creativity, content, and aesthetic of the video (40%), the technical skill involved
in creating the video and the quality of the video (10%), and overall engagement on posts (50%). You may use
English, Tagalog, Bisaya as the language of your content.

5. GENERAL RULES:

The committee has the right to change, add to, delete, suspend, or terminate any content entry. Committee members
reserve the right to disqualify any Entrant found to be, or suspected of: (a) tampering with the entry process or the
operation of the Contest; (b) acting in violation of these Official Rules; or (c) acting in an unsportsmanlike or
disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person.

6. PRIZES

Winners will receive a cash prize and certificate of participation for the agency or institution.

1st Prize: 500 + Certificate

Poster Making Competition(Sir Myle and Sir Charles)

The objective behind organization of poster making competition is to bring out the creative expression of students
and to gauge their knowledge and awareness of historical milestone of the Lasallian journey of the school. The aim
of the Poster Making Competition is not just to judge the students based on their creative aspects but also to trigger
thought process among the students towards understanding of the impact of the school in the community.

The Poster Making Competition can be on any one of the following themes relating to 15 years Anniversary as a La
Salle District School
Rules for Poster Making Competition:

 Each Participant can post only one Poster.


 The poster must be made on the A3 size (11.7 * 16.5 inches) sheet with margins (0.5 inches) drawn with
black pen/marker.
 Poster can be made using pencil, crayon, watercolor, oil paint, etc. Photographs, wires, other 3D objects,
print-outs won’t be acceptable. It should be original and hand made.
 The Topic of poster and theme should be clearly mentioned at the Top Margin of the Poster.
 Poster should not contain any personal details like Name, Class, and College etc. of the participants. These
details should be mentioned in registration form only.
 Participant should submit along with poster, an audio clip explaining the topic and content of the poster.
The audio clip should not be more than 5 minutes of duration. Student can explain their posters in either
English, Taglog or Bisaya Languages.

Judgment Criteria: Judgment will be based on:

• Relevance to the theme.

• Originality.

• Artistic composition.

• Creativity.

• Message conveyed by the poster.

• Effectiveness in communicating the intended message.

PRIZES

Winners will receive a cash prize and certificate of participation for the agency or institution.

Spoken Poetry (Ms. Jia, Ms. Jneth, Ms. Bneth)

1. Spoken Word Poetry is a performance art that is word based. It is meant to be spoken or recited with emotion to
an audience. It is an oral art that focuses on the art of word play, rhythm, improvisation, intonation, and voice
inflection.
2. The contest is open to all students of Senior High School Department of DLSJBC. Each participating section
shall be allowed 1 entry only.
3. The spoken word poetry piece must be an original composition, written in Filipino or English or in Taglish.
4. The piece must be related to this year’s 15th Anniversary theme and must not contain any malicious and offensive
content.
5. The author of the piece may opt to choose someone to deliver his/her composition. He/she must come from the
same enrolled student in the section.
6. The spoken poetry may be delivered from memory or with a copy at hand.
7. Each contestant must submit a PDF copy of the piece and a 2 to 3-minute recorded video of the delivery of the
piece on or before 12 noon of February 8, 2022.
8. Sounds, instruments, or musical background is allowed to complement the delivery. No deduction shall be made
if the contestant opts not to have a musical background.
9. Members of the Student Coordinating Board Council are not allowed to join the contest.
10. Winners will receive a cash prize and certificate of participation for the agency or institution.

All participants will be given a certificate of participation.

Criteria for Judging

1. Message/Content, 40%
o The content of the spoken piece is relevant to the theme.
o The piece has a powerful and meaningful message to the audience.
2. Delivery and Performance, 30%
o The spoken piece is delivered from the heart.
o Facial expression, hand and body gestures that emphasize the different elements of the performance.
o Enunciation is clear. Audience can understand what is being spoken.
o Words are pronounced distinctly and correctly.
3. Originality, 10%
o The piece must be an original composition by the contestant.
4. Number of Likes, 10%
o The performance/entry’s with the highest number of likes until 10pm of March 22, 2021
5. Overall Impact, 10%
o The performer’s physical appearance, voice and articulation, dramatic appropriateness, and evidence of
understanding all seem on target and unified to breathe life into the piece.
o Total success of the performance, the degree to which the performance has become more than the sum
of its parts.
o Positive online comments and or reactions solicited from viewers.

Virtual Modern Dance Competition (Ms. Celyn, Sir Jason)

 
Guidelines:
 
1. Each group shall be composed of a minimum of 5 dancers up to a maximum of 20dancers. Members of the
groups may be composed of all males or females, or any combination thereof. 3 points are deducted if there
are excess or deficient in number of participants.
 
2. No outsiders or professional dancer/s should be part of the group. Automatic disqualification in the contest
if the group fails to follow.
 

3. Music should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any subliminal, sexually suggestive, and
vulgar lyrics/ language.
 
4. The music must be at least three (3) minutes but not more than five (5) minutes.Any excess in time will
have 1 point deduction/ min to the total score.

5. Recorded video performance should be submitted to the committee on or before February 9, 2022 at 12
noon.
 
6. Participation in the event is entirely at the dancers’ own risk. Performance of dangerous choreography will
not be reflected favorably in the scoring.

7. Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and any harm to the
performance of other groups. Props such as oil, confetti, pyrotechnic gadgets, smoke generators or
combustible material, broken glass, live animals, sharp objects and the like are prohibited.

8. Choreography should not be vulgar and must not contain any subliminal or sexually suggestive act.

9. Appropriate clothing should be observed throughout the competition

10. The top 3 winners will be the top 3 dance group with the 3 highest total scores.

11. Failure to comply with any of the foregoing rules and conditions will result to disqualification (for the following rules without
corresponding deductions.
12. Judges decision is final and irrevocable

PROMOTIONAL VIDEO (Sir Jake, Sir KD, Ms. Odie)

Theme                        : Celebrating the Gift of the Lasallian Spirit amidst the Challenges of Time
 
SPECIFIC GUIDELINES
 
1. The contest is open to all SHS students. Each team shall consist of five (5) students.
2. The project shall showcase one (1) original audio visual presentations/promotional video teasers featuring
their chosen strand.
3. Each entry should have a video length of no less than two (2) minutes and thirty (30) seconds with the
maximum file size is two (25) MB. Going beyond the video length limit will mean a penalty of one point
per minute, which will be deducted from the total score.
4. Videos should be submitted in MP4 or AVI format online. It should=d be submitted before the presentation
of entries on February 9, 2022, Thursday.
5. All videos submitted for judging purposes shall be original and unpublished online or in any forms. All
entries sent will become a property of the Senior High School Department.
6. Appearance of participants’ name, section or any product/brand name as a material or content in the video
is not allowed.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

CREATIVITY                                                                                                            30 points
Video should be colorful, fun and vibrant.

ORIGINALITY                                                                                                          20 points
Videos clips and pictures used should be non-copyrighted and the uniqueness of the venue concept.

RELEVANCE TO THE THEME                                                                                50 points


The presentation showcases the theme of the competition and the viability to become an official tourism AVP.

Term of the Contest:


Deadline of submission of entries: February 9, 2022, at 12:00 Noon.

Who may join the Contest:

The photography contest is open to all students of senior high school students.

What to capture in your Photograph:

Photos should capture the essence of the 15th year District La Salle Celebration of De La Salle John Bosco College.
The same should be able to interpret the theme:

Celebrating the Gift of the Lasallian Spirit amidst the Challenges of Time
What Photo should be submitted:

• Photographs must have been recently shot (2021-2022).


• For a photo in which a person is recognizable, the photographer is responsible for securing permission from that
person or, in the case of a minor, from the subject’s parent or guardian.
• The following photographs are disqualified: 5
o Photographs that are digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered for creative purposes. Altered Images refer to
Photographs manipulated and applied with special effects (colorizing, toning, collage, photo composites, HDR, etc.).
However, minor adjustments, including sharpening, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents,
are acceptable
o Photographs that have been submitted to or won in any other contests or have been published in print or online.
o Photos that violate another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright.
o Photos which are highly immoral, relatively obscene and/or in violation of public moral and/or public policy.

How to join the Contest:


• Submit your entry/photograph (only 1 entry/photograph per entrant) with the following requirements:
1. 8R size, color print, unmounted
2. JPEG Format File with a minimum size of 1MB in a Compact Disk (CD).

• All photos submitted shall become properties of the department.


• By joining the contest, the entrant is considered to have granted the departemnt permission or license to use the
photos, along with the names of the photographers, for various publications and marketing collaterals of the
department, and for other purposes.

Judging:
Criteria
1. Relevance to the Theme (How well the photo interprets the theme ): 25%
2. Creativity (How the photographer showed some creative thoughts. How the subject matter is pictured in a unique
and interesting way): 25%
3. Technique (Use of elements of photography. Whether the photo showed balance in light, focus, depth of field,
etc.): 25%
4. Overall impact (Whether the photo was able to grab and hold the viewers’ attention. Is there a “wow” factor):
25%
Screening of Entries/Photographs
• Screening shall be done at the CSC-CO. Entries shall be judged by a panel composed of representatives from
partner organizations and the Commission.
• The panel of judges will initially determine the top thirteen (13) entries/photographs based on the established
criteria.
• The First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize winners will be chosen from the top thirteen (13)
entries/photographs.
• Decision of the judges is considered final and unappealable.
Prizes and Incentives:
• First Prize: Cash Prize of One Thousand Pesos (P1, 000.00) and a Certificate
• Second Prize: Cash Prize of Five Hundred Pesos (P500.00) and a Certificate.
• Third Prize: Cash Prize of Three Hundred Pesos (P300.00) and a Certificate.
• • Winning photos will be used for various publications and marketing collaterals of the department as well as
exhibited in selected area for galleries.
• As incentive to participants, all entries will have the chance to be featured, along with the names of the
photographers, in the official Facebook page of the Student Council Coordinating Board.
