HIMIG PINOY MECHANICS AND CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Himig Pinoy Contest is open to all elementary pupils from public schools in DepEd Schools Division of
Aurora enrolled during the SY 2020 – 2021.

Strictly one (1) entry per district only

Contestant must be dressed in “Filipiniana” attire and perform one (1) Original Pilipino Music entitled,
“Basta’t Maghintay Ka Lamang” by Ted Ito as a contest piece and any of the song of Freddie Aguilar as
warm up song. No song is to be sung without a minus one/CD. Multiplex is strictly not allowed. Three (3)
to six (6) minutes is allotted for performance.

While practicing and making their music video entries, participants are reminded to observe and follow
minimum health standards like wearing of face masks/shields, regular washing of hands, the use of
alcohol and sanitizers, social distancing and local IATF protocols.

The performance will be pre-recorded and videographer can utilize different angles. No participant will
be compelled to shoot the performance outside their home.

The criteria for judging are as follows:

Musicality 50%
Interpretation
Diction
Timing

Voice Quality 40%


Intonation (Accuracy)
Timber (Tone Quality)

Overall Performance 10%

Cash prizes and certificate of recognition shall be given to winners while certificate of participation shall
be given to non-winners.

First Prize - 10,000


Second Prize - 8,000
Third Prize - 6,000
Consolation Prize - 3,000

The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.


DAKILA KA, BAYANI KA, MUSIC VIDEO CONTEST CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Dakila Ka, Bayani Ka Music Video Contest is open to all Senior High School public schools in DepEd-
Schools Division of Aurora enrolled during the SY 2020 – 2021.

Strictly one (1) contestant per district.

The entry should have a minimum of 10 and maximum of 15 participants excluding the 5 support staff.
Members may come from different public SHS but should be within the District only (coordination must
be done online)

The contest piece will be Dakila Ka, Bayani Ka Arnie Mandaros, a tribute songs for frontliners and should
not have an introduction nor credits. The video play must be limited to 4.55 minutes.

The performance will be pre-recorded. No participant will be compelled to shoot the performance
outside their home. However, to add beauty in the music video, they may use either original and
localized video clips or pictures in editing their entries.

While practicing and making their music video entries, participants are reminded to observe and follow
minimum health standards like wearing of face masks/shields, regular washing of hands, the use of
alcohol and sanitizers, social distancing and local IATF protocols.

The criteria for judging are as follows:

Performance - 25%
the visual images demonstrated excellent relevance to the music and/or lyrics, or tells a story
that follows the music.
lip syncing/singing takes place throughout appropriate increment during the video and is
performed in a professional manner that demonstrates comprehension of the lyrics.

Concept and Development - 25%


exceptional plot/idea development (focused, logical, sensible)
interest developed and sustained at a high level

Visual Interpretation/Creativity - 25%


outstanding skill in showing imagination and creativity in content and production techniques.
superior attempt in creating a product that shows originality
outstanding and imaginative skills in showing mood, style and artistic interpretation.

Technical - 25%
lighting creatively and effectively used
audio is flawless and well balanced using ambient sound, music and/or sound effects effectively
camera work is outstanding using shots and angles to provide impact
editing is effectively used to enhance message
graphics/titles are used to enhance the topic or message

SPOKEN WORD POETRY CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Spoken Word Poetry contest is open to all Junior High School public schools in DepEd-Schools Division of
Aurora enrolled during the SY 2020 – 2021.

Strictly one (1) contestant per district.

The entry should have a minimum of 10 and maximum of 15 participants excluding the 5 support staff.
Members may come from different public SHS but should be within the District only (coordination must
be done online)

The spoken word poetry piece must be an original composition. It must be written in Filipino and could
be added with some Spanish phrase and/or Filipino millenial phrases.

The piece composition can be about Filipino and Spanish culture, Spanish occupation in the Philippines
and 122nd year’s commemoration of the celebration of the historic Siege of Baler connected to current
situation including the COViD 19 pandemic. The piece must mention positive Filipino values and not be
an instrument of hatred, blaming others, political disjunction and discriminaition of race, sex, religion
and ethnicity.

Each contestant is given 3 to 5 minutes to deliver his/her piece in presentable attire.

Sounds, instrumental or music background is allowed to complement the delivery. No deduction shall be
made if the contestant opts not to have musical background.

The performance will be pre-recorded. No participant will be compelled to shoot the performance
outside their home.

The criteria for judging are as follows:

Message and Content - 40%


Relevant to the specified content in the mechanics
Unity and coherence are evident
Powerful and meaningful message

Delivery and Performance - 30%


Delivered from the heart
Facial expression, hand gestures emphasized the different element of the performance
Words are pronounced distinctly and correctly

Originality - 20%
the piece must be an original composition by the contestant.

Over all impact - 10%


Voice and articulation, dramatic appropriateness, and evidence of the understanding are in
unison to convey the message effectively and with great impact.

Total - 100%

be given to non-winners.
