GUIDELINES FOR CREATIVE SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST (Grades 3-6)
Theme: VIPLC, INC.@17: Nurtured Through Faith and United by a Mission
1. The contest is open to all interested Grades 3- 6 pupils. They must signify participation on
or before January 27. (Kindly inform your adviser.)
2. A draft of the slogan on a long bond paper must be submitted to the office together with
the illustration board to be used for the contest proper. This will be sealed and will be
opened by the contestant on the day of the contest.
(Note: The submitted draft will serve as their guide during the contest. Any
revision/modification is not allowed. The deadline of submission will be on February 1.
3. The contest will be held online/live. Microphone and web camera must be turned on
throughout the contest. Any unexpected device problem/internet problem that exceeds 5
minutes during the contest may be a ground for disqualification
4. The slogan must be written in 1/8 illustration board (landscape). Any medium may be used
(any coloring materials, pencil, marker, ruler). They will be given 1 hour to finish their slogan.
5. Criteria for judging:
a. Content/ Relevance to the Theme – 40%
b. Creativity/ Originality – 30%
c. Impact & Presentation – 20%
d. Neatness – 10%

6. All participants must be in white shirt/blouse, pants/skirt and shoes. We believe this will aid in
mind setting.

7. Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.

Our top objective for this activity is to develop the skills and attitude of our learners to prepare them
for lifetime learning.

Let us be one to train them to be independent and value-oriented persons.

GUIDELINES FOR THE VOCAL SOLO CONTEST (Grade school)

1. The contest is open to all interested Grade school pupils. They must signify participation on or
before January 27. (Kindly inform your adviser.)

2. The contestant will choose their song-entry. A minus- one should be utilized.

3. The use of props or costumes is allowed, provided that, these are economical and will not be a
distraction. Use of an external microphone/headset is encouraged for clearer and louder audio.

4. The video-entry must be raw/use of any editing app is not allowed. It must run from 1-2
minutes. There will be a point deduction from the overall score per minute extension.

5. Criteria for Judging:
30% Voice Sound Quality (The quality and individual characteristics of the voice.)
25% Rhythm & Tempo (The voice in relation to the music.)
25% Vocal Expression (How well the performer is able to express the meaning and
mood of the song.)
10% Stage Presence (The physical expression of the song in terms of the overall
visual presentation of the performance on stage.)
10% Entertainment Value (The overall impression of performance.)

6. Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.

7. The winning entry will be included in the 17th Founding Anniversary virtual program.

GUIDELINES FOR THE DECLAMATION CONTEST (4-6)

Declamation means a speech with feeling, or refers to the act of reciting a speech or rhetoric.

1. The contest is open to all interested Grades 4-6 learners. They must register/signify
participation on or before January 27. (Please inform your adviser).

2. Each contestant will give their interpretation of the piece “The River”.

3. The use of props or costumes is allowed, provided that, these are economical and will not be a
distraction. Use of lapel or microphone is encouraged for clearer and louder audio.

4. The video-entry must run from 2-3 minutes. There will be a point deduction from the overall
score per minute extension. It must be raw/use of any editing app is not allowed.

5. Criteria:
a. Mastery: 30 pts
b. Delivery/Articulation: 30 pts (diction and pronunciation, ability to interpret, emotions reflected in
the declamation piece by changing the rate, pitch and volume of interpreters’ voice) c. Stage
Presence: 20 pts (posture, gesture, movement, eye contact, facial expressions)
e. Overall Impact: 20 pts

6. Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.

GUIDELINES FOR THE LIVE INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC COMPETITION (3-6)

This offers an avenue to pupils who have talents in playing musical instruments. Judging focuses mainly
on the contestant’s ability to use the instrument to play music.

1. The contest is open to all interested Grades 3-6 learners. They must register/signify participation on
or before January 27. (Please inform your adviser).

2. One or more instruments may be used in the performance. The contestant can choose his/her own
song/music to play using the instrument/s. A copy of it must be submitted at least a day before the
competition. Presentation must run from 2-3 minutes.

3. The contest will be held online/live. Microphone and web camera must be turned on throughout the
contest. Any unexpected device problem/internet problem that exceeds 5 minutes during the contest

Difficulty of the piece. Is it easy, very technical, demanding a great deal of practice?. Is it

Command of the Instrument- 30%
How familiar is the performer with and in control of the instrument being played?

This includes tone, phrasing, dynamics and expression of emotion.

Does the contestant have command of the stage (area of performance)?
