To meet each student’s needs, I select fromamong various teaching strategies.Individual teachers can influence how otherteachers think about, plan for, and conducttheir work with students. Teachers should be recognized for beinginnovative in classrooms whether they succeedor fail. Teachers should decide on the best methods of meeting education goals set by policy makinggroups. (eg. School board, state departments)I am willing to observe and provide feedback tofellow teachers.I would like to spend time discussing my valuesand beliefs about teaching with my colleagues.It is important to me to have the respect of theadministrators and other teachers at my school.I would be willing to help a colleague who washaving difficulty with his/her teaching.I can see the points of view of my colleagues,parents and students.I would give my time to help select new facultymembers for my school.I am a facilitator of the work of students in myclassroom. Teachers working collaboratively are able toinfluence practice in their schools.I can continue to serve as a teacher whileserving is a leader in my school.Cooperating with the colleagues is moreimportant then competing with them.I am comfortable working with parents and Iknow my school’s community well.My work contributes to the overall success of our school programs.Mentoring new teachers is part of myresponsibility as a professional teacher.School faculty and university faculty canmutually benefit from working with each other.I would be willing to give my time to participatein making decisions about such things asallocation of resources, professionaldevelopment or student’s assignments.
