God wants His will to be done right now! On earth as it is in heaven.
If not, then don’t expect that you will be in His eternal Kingdom. 1 Peter 4:2
The very basis of all sin is the desire to live your own life as you determine (self-centered) –
according to your will. Being in God’s will requires you to put your life aside (die to self) and
live in obedience to Him. The flesh does not want to deny itself and forsake the things that it
loves to put God foremost. Will you put the flesh aside and

What does it mean to Love God- hate
repent? sin!
Repentance is understanding the wickedness of your sin and how it separates you from God. It
produces a true godly sorrow and regret for past sins, but just as important a heart determined
to forsake all future sin. As you cry out to God for mercy and forgiveness, you totally yield
your life to Him. You forsake, let go, die to your old life and take on the nature of Christ. You
hate sin in your life just as God hates sin.
There will be a noticeable change in your
life!
There is a fundamental difference between a Christian and an unbeliever. The Christian lives
to Glorify God, the sinner rejects God's claim on his life and lives to please himself.
Coming to Christ is leaving of all false confidences and renouncing all love to sin - looking to
5 Jesus as your sole confidence and hope.
Isaiah 55:6-7, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him, while he is near: Let
the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the
Lord, and he will have mercy on him.” You must forsake your

Many will seek to retain their own sin
and say they are following Christ by
simply believing in Him. They may even be very religious (attending worship ceremonies).
Refusing to yield your will to God’s will eventually result in eternal separation from Him.

the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the
light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth
cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
6 What is God’s desire?2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should
peris, but that all should come to repentance.” It’s all about Jesus!
Those that perish will do so as a result of their own rebellion toward God in not repenting.
They will be rejecting God’s mercy and grace which is freely given yet totally undeserved.
God sent His Son to die for us and deliver us from our sins. Jesus laid His life down willingly
in perfect obedience to the Father’s will. It was sufficient! If this is not precious to you then
you are far gone. We must lay our lives down in obedience to
Jesus’ will!
Those that truly repent will find mercy and grace. Psalms 86:5, “For thou, Lord, art good, and
ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” Psalms 86:15,
“But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in

7 The Prodigal Son: Luke 15:11, “And he (Jesus) said, A certain man had two sons:”
Luke 15:12-13, “And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give methe portion of
goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the
younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted
his substance with Riotous living.” Someone seeking their will
over
The son was concerned for himself and his desires. God’s
Notice that he was far from God and wasted
his life on luxurious living - unrestrained by law or morality in festive indulgences.
Luke 15:14-16, “And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he
began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent
him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that
the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.” Sin will destroy you!
Our way always fails in the end. The son hits rock bottom – sinks as low as he can. We think
we know everything and set ourselves in the place of God. Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way
that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” The son’s whole
attitude about his life and God begins to change. Yield to God
always!
8 Luke 15:17-18, “And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my
father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my
father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am
no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
The once prideful and arrogant son is now humbled. He sees his need and God’s provision to
meet that need. He sees what separates him from God. He decides to repent - to confess his
sin to God, ask forgiveness, and turn from his way and seek God’s righteousness as a true
servant. God’s response to a repentant sinner: Luke 15:20, “And he arose, and
came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had
compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” God loves you!
Luke 15:21-24, “And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy
sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring
forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And
bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was
dead, and is alive again; he was lost , and is found . And they began to be merry.”

Matthew 12:39
The people of Nineveh believed God! Everyone from the greatest to the least fasted (neither
eating nor drinking), they cried mightily unto God, and everyone turned from their evil way
and violence. Jonah 3:10, “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and
God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.”
Jesus said: Luke 11:30, “For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of
man be to this generation.” The time to repent is now! Will you?
Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Jesus has called for repentance – to turn, forsake, let go of all your wicked ways. God is
merciful now, but He will next come in judgment.” The question – Will you follow the gospel?

The old life (old man) would be that self-willed, self-seeking, rebellious, sinful person that does

based upon his own fleshly desires. That Old Man has gotta die!
Romans 6:4-6, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was

James 3:19, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe,

destined for the lake of fire. Are you in rebellion (what does your life say)?
Salvation and relationship with God is so much more than a quick prayer and a religious
appearance. It involves dying to yourself everyday to do God’s will - To serve and obey him.
You must deny yourself and take up the cross (symbol of death). You must follow Christ’s
example. Jesus becomes your life. John 1:4, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
1 John 5:11-12, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in
his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
Most are comfortable with a form of godliness:
John 8:36, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Have you truly been freed from the love of sin? Do you fight it daily? Do you seek to yield all
areas of your life to God – forsaking all? Do you still rebel to control your own way or cherish
certain idols? Jesus came to free you from that and reconcile you with the Father.
34 What About Grace? Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Many will persist and say that their sinfulness is covered under God’s Grace. They say that
God’s unmerited grace allows them to sin and identify with the devil because it is a nature that
cannot be overcome in this life. Grace is not given at the expense of
