? The apostle Paul in accordance with the Lord Jesus Christ emphasized the importance of doctrine(instruction or teaching) as the foundation or guideline for our life, as our beliefs form the basis of our actions. OT- Deut. 32:1-2 V1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. V2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, My speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: doctrine-Hebrew-legach-Strongs 3948. Instruction: something received mentally. Learning. Fair speech. Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from milk and drawn from the breasts. doctrine-Hebrew-shumach. Strongs 8052. Something heard.i.e. an announcement.-bruit, doctrine, fame, mentioned, news, reports, rumor, tidings. Jeremiah 10:8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities. doctrine-Hebrew-muwcar. Strongs 4148. Chastisement, re-proof, warning or instruction; also restraint: bond, chastening, check, correction, discipline, doctrine, rebuke. NT-1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. doctrines-Greek-didaskalia. Instruction (the function or the information);-doctrine, learning, teaching. 2 Timothy 4:1-2 V1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; V2 Preach the word; Be. instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. doctrine-Greek-didache. Strongs 1322. Instruction (the act or the matter)-

doctrine, has been taught. From1321-to teach, to learn. The basis for all teaching, instruction or learning is the Word of God, the Holy Bible. Gods Word sets the guidelines for life, records the nature and actions of God and is Almighty God personally speaking and instructing us. Christian doctrine may be defined as the cardinal doctrines or truths of the Bible arranged in a systematic form. I) The Word of God. The Bible does not contain the Word of God, it is the Word of God. A) 2 Timothy 3:16-17 V16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: V17 That the man of God may be perfected, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. The word inspiration is theo-pneustos or God breathed in the Greek. It means God breathed His very life and nature into His Word. That life is none other than God Himself in the person of the Holy Spirit who is the life and author of the Word. Inspiration is the divine influence which renders a speaker or writer infallible in the communication of truth, whether previously known or not. By the inspiration of the Scriptures we mean that special divine influence upon the minds of the Scripture writers and virtue of which their productions, apart from errors of transcription and when rightly interpreted, together constitute an infallible rule of faith and practice. (Strong) 2 Peter 1:20-21 V20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation (it is not from ones own personal or private human mind or impulse). V21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God were moved to by the Holy Ghost. The prophets were Greek-phero, or borne along or moved by the Holy Spirit. They spoke things by the inspiration of God that even they at the time did not have full understanding of. B) Illumination is the divine quickening of the human mind in virtue of which it is

enabled to understand the truth already revealed. By truth already revealed we mean the teachings of the Holy Spirit. At this point we should make a special note that illumination reveals no new truth, but give us an understanding to truth already revealed. C) Revelation is the act of God by which He communicates to the mind of man truth not known before and incapable of being discovered by the mind of man by natural means. Revelation concerns discovery of truth. Inspiration concerns the communication of truth. Illumination concerns the understanding of truth. The word Bibliography is the study of the Bible. II) The Integrity of the Word of God A) Psalm 119:89 Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Gods word is settled (boundary) in heaven. It is as unchanging as God Himself. What he said 100 years ago it says today and will say for ever in this age and in the age to come. It (Gods Word) is our ultimate rule of Faith and action. B) Psalm 89:34 My covenant will I not break nor alter the thing that has gone out of my lips. C) Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? God is not a man, but the Creator of all things. It is impossible for Him to lie or for His Word to not carry the nature, intent or power of God Himself to accomplish what only He can do. D) Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word about all thy name. God and His Word are one, meaning He will not say or do anything contrary to His Word. Two exalt His Word above His name means all that God is and will ever be is revealed in and backed up by His Word. E) The Word is Gods Creative Power Genesis 1:1-3. V1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth

V2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. V3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. God never did anything except He spoke it first. As a matter of fact, the way God created everything that exists, all matter, man, animals, earth, the universe was by His Word and by His Spirit. God spoke and the Spirit of God was released to create or form what God said by His spoken Word. Hebrews 1:1-3; 11:3. III) Jesus is the Word made flesh A) John 1:1-3 V1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. V2 The same was in the beginning with God. V3 All things were made by him; and without him was nothing made that was made. Jesus is the logos-the entire revealed word and will of Almighty God. He is the second person of the Trinity, the Creator of all things by whom and for whom all things were made. Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. The entire Bible, Gods Word, is a revelation of God Himself, His character, His love and intentions for man as revealed through the person of His Son-Jesus Christ.
