INTERNS JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the intern will engage and fulfill various functions, including but not limited to the following: o Contact major food suppliers and develop contacts; participate in meetings with such suppliers with program director. o Discuss the concept under which the program operates o Determine the beneficial relationship between the program and potential provider o Attend planning sessions with various non-profit organizations, i.e. Project Homeless Connect. o Assist in research and determination of appropriate grant opportunities. o Provide administrative assistance to Executive Director o Determine availability of products for distribution o Assistant in developing an expansion plan for the program in comparison to other similar organizations nationwide. o Attend all social events and/or fund raising activities o Assist in the improvement of the web site o Participate and contribute to the planning and execution of Fill a Plate for Hunger o Facilitate in obtaining volunteers in connection with events

Internship with We Dont Waste, which would include the opportunity to work with the executive director to facilitate improvement in web site, Facebook, promotional materials, publicity and other related areas. Provide efficient and thoughtful solutions to a variety of technical and product challenges of considerable benefit to We Dont Waste. Experience in use of Salesforce is a bonus. The time commitment on a weekly basis would be consistent with your course load, which can be reviewed on a regular basis with the understanding your work will permit you to work from home. I would like to maintain an open-ended approach to how long the internship will run so as not to create any artificial barriers to your commitment to We Dont Waste and the goals to be achieved as I anticipate as we move forward we will find your experience and know-how will create other areas for you to engage with during the internship.
