LOGON TO NETWORK
When you turn on your computer a network logon dialog box will appear.
Enter your username and password into the correct spaces and press the
ENTER key.
Share folders are folders on a file server that can be used to share
documents between departments or within a department. You have access
to the university-wide share folder as well as your department’s share folder.
These folders can be accessed usually through the G: and H: drives on your
computer respectively.
You can browse the Internet using either Microsoft Internet Explorer or
Netscape Navigator -the choice is yours. Both browsers are installed on your
computer.
DIAL-UP NETWORKING
If you do not have an Internet Service Provider (ISP) you can connect to
the FGCU network from a remote location using Dial-Up Networking. The
Help Desk has software that you can install on your personal computer that
will allow you to connect to FGCU and retrieve your email or access the
network.
