TECHNICAL SHEET GEL FEU F2 5%

Dual action fire extinguishing & retardant agent

ECO-FRIENDLY FIRE SUPPRESSANT AND RETARDANT FOREST FIRES CLASS A FIRES
Gel Feu F2 5% is a new environmentally friendly fire fighting formulation made with natural and renewable biodegradable products. After mixing with water, it produces a white fluid latex-like suspension which has high heat absorbing and film forming capabilities as well high water retention power. Key fire-fighting features and benefits Provides a long lasting firebreak barrier up to 6 hours Procures a significant drop in temperature and substantial reduction in flame height Provides a secure zone for fire-fighters retreat Blocks the release of flammable vapor, gas and smoke Restricts flying sparks that spread fires Regulates the vaporization of composition water Reduces application dispersion losses Considerably restricts water run off Gives potent surface adherence Increases the range of fire hoses and the cohesion of water jets Produces a phenomenon of heat absorption Maintains high humidity and allows re-hydration of foliage and surfaces Douses flames and cools by producing massive inertia at the heart of the fire This product delivers spectacular protection and/or extinction by very evenly covering surfaces in need of protection while significantly reducing the amounts of water used. Validations The CEREN (Study & Research Center for Interdepartmental Understanding in fire protection for forests and the environment) states in its final report that the physical and chemical characteristics of Gel Feu F2-5% are compatible with use against forest fires, that it is effective for directly tackling fires and that it meets all requirements applicable to long-term retarding agents. Presentation A white free flowing powder based on potato starch and other food products.

Usage Usage concentrations:

5% used as a retarding agent. An effective barrier immediately upon application and up to 6 hours before the fire hits the area (depending on weather conditions). 2 to 5% for direct flame fighting.

Usable with all forms of water (fresh, brine, sea-water). The powder should be mixed evenly with water and the mixture then used within 24 hours (this is a natural product with no chemical treatment, so it may ferment beyond that period). Application may be made with low, medium or high pressure hoses. Rate of application: 2 to 7 liters/sq.m, depending on whether used for direct fighting or to form a barrier. Usable by air or on land.

Packaging Bulk. 25 kg watertight sacks. Big Bag.

Precautions for storage Keep away from moisture in a dry place. Environment and toxicity Based on food grade natural ingredients, Gel Feu F2-5% is fully biodegradable with no harmful impact on the environment or for users. 2
