This is in Trabzon in northeast Turkey. Its built on a cliff a thousand feet above the floor. It clings to a rock. The monastery goes back to the 4th century. It was founded by a Greek monk named blessed Barnabas. .

Cappadocia is a volcanic rock formation. It is found in the Goreme National Park. A lot of people visit it. Many years ago people began carving cave dwellings into the volcanic rock. Now it is a neat system of tunnels.
