/eed after need hits you with hammer>li5e blows...day after day...wee5 after wee5...year after year. 3t pounds at you, wears you, wea5ens you, scares you, pulls you down... down... down. 1ou go to church and often you find you can<t relate to the preacher<s message. 9e doesn<t appear to be tal5ing about you or your needs or where you are in life. %thers appear to en@oy the message and the church ser(ices. +he fact that the church is e(en there is comforting. 1ou greet friends, someone says hello to you or gi(es you a =6od bless you.= 1ou go home, howe(er, to the same old problem...your need is still facing you. %(er a period of time you may begin to feel as if you<re @ust a fi;ture in the church ser(ices, li5e the chair you sit on, or the hymnboo5 you sing from, or the choir singing, or the ushers recei(ing the tithes and offerings, or the building being there. 1ou<re there, but the life of 6od is not pulsating in you. 1ou don<t feel the -AC3+-:-/+ of being a Christian. %h, you en@oy the atmosphere where Christians gather. 1ou especially li5e the stories in the sermon. Satan slips in again with his insinuations. =2hy doesn<t the sermon get down to where you li(e in the nitty>gritty of your day> by>day needs4 +he singing lifted you up, but why are you so down again4 +he prayers at church inspired you that better things are coming, but where are they4 2hen are they going to get here4 1ou heard all this the last time you were at church and the times before that. Sic5ness hits. +he @ob mar5et gets bad. +a;es go up. Bills pile up. +rouble in your family. +here<s too much month left and the money has run out. *ain.
