    Shell & Tube heat exchanger is the most commonly used type of heat-transfer equipment.

    S&T Heat exchanger essentially consists of a tube bundle enclosed in cylindrical shell. The ends of the tubes are fitted in the tube-sheets, which separate the tube-side fluid from shell-side fluid. Baffles are provided to direct the fluid flow and support the tubes. The assembly of baffles and tubes is held together by support rods and spacers.
