The ability to problem solve is a skill valued in most organizations today, and the more complex problems you solve within your organization, the higher you climb up the corporate ladder. Fortunately, problem solving is a very teachable skill.

This PowerPoint presentation outlines the necessary steps to solve problems. And the process is a creative one so it is not a one-size-fits-all template. From interviews I have conducted, I identified four types of problem solvers, so the type of problem solver you are informs the way you approach any problem.

And finally, there are times when you are given an outcome and you have to figure out how to achieve that end result. In this instance you have to reverse problem solve, that is work backwards from the end result. The steps to do so are included in this presentation.
