SHORT COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT


COURSE TITLE: EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE USING COMPUTERIZED HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM SECOND BATCH
1) COURSE DESCRIPTION The effective management of human capital is vital in any strategic management of organization for the purpose of achieving goals and gaining a competitive advantage. In order to achieve such goals, decision-makers, managers, customers, employees and other stakeholders require quality information attributed by number of factors including being timely, consistent, relevant, precise, accurate and wellpresented. With the evolution of computer technology, meeting this information requirement has been greatly enhanced through the development, deployment and use of digital solution such as electronically supported human resource management (e-HRM) and human resource management information system (HRMIS). Recent discoveries and advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) have changed roles and responsibilities of HR practitioners from routine tasks to more strategically organizational issues. In order for the organizations (including MDAs, RSs, LGAs) to realize full advantage of advances in these technologies, employees need to be equipped with competence and relevant skills necessary for deploying, managing and utilizing the technologies. 2) LEARNING OUTCOME On completion of the course, participants will be able to: Demonstrate their understanding about how IT is the nerve center for HR data processing, HR information dissemination, and managing human resources in general Demonstrate how an HRIS can effectively be used to complement traditional HRM programs, such as in recruitment, attendance, leave, appraisal and employees data handling and management. Understand various ways in which HRIS can provide quality employee information to assist decision makers at both the strategic and operational levels in an organization Understand the basic requirements necessary for HRIS deployment, management and utilization. Understand immerging issues related to data and information security and processes.

Understand the benefits and challenges related to electronic HRIS deployment and utilization at the organization Practically apply HRIS tools in carrying out human resource management activities in organizations.

3) TARGET GROUPS Human Resource Managers and Officers; Staff Welfare Managers and Officers; Training Managers and Officers; Administrative Managers and Officers; System administrators; Information Officers; Health administrative secretaries; and any other related fields 4) METHODOLOGY The course will be delivered through lectures, hands-on practice (laboratory work) and case study discussions /sharing of experience. 5) COURSE OUTLINE Module I: MIS and Office Automation Module II: Strategic HRM Module III: e-HRM Operations (Lab work using OrangeHRM package) Module IV: Emerging Challenges in Security Module V: Emerging Opportunities

6) COURSE FEE:
Tshs. 700,000/= to cover tuition fee; training materials; certificate of attendance; breakfast; lunch and refreshments. Payment should be made direct to Mzumbe University Shortcourses and Consultancy, Account No. 01J1076853301, CRDB Mzumbe Branch. Remember to bring your bank pay-in slip at the University for issuance of receipt. Participants should meet their own the accommodation and transport costs.
