AN ACT CONCERNING THE LOCATING OF PETS FOLLOWING

SEVERE WEATHER EMERGENCIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

Assembly convened:

1 That the sum of twenty thousand dollars be appropriated to the

2 Department of Agriculture, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year
3 ending June 30, 2014, for the purpose of coordinating with municipal
4 animal shelters following severe weather emergencies in order to have
5 information concerning the number and types of animals harbored by
6 any such municipal animal shelter following such an emergency
7 posted on the Department of Agriculture's web site. Furthermore, that
8 the general statutes be amended to require the Department of
9 Agriculture to maintain a list of municipal animal shelters, along with
10 contact information and web links for such animal shelters, on the
11 department's web site.

Statement of Purpose:
To facilitate the locating of pets following severe weather emergencies.
