1 There is a central gure and four gures with one in each corner: (i) The central gure rstly
increases in size over a series of three, then decreases in the same fashion; (ii) The central
gure changes from white, to having a dotted outline, to black; and (iii) The four gures
rotate around the four corners, moving two corners at a time.
Correct Anwser: F
2
Correct Anwser: B
There are four rows, each containing a set of partially formed ovals. The same four rows
appear in each block, but in a different order. In each step of the series the bottom row is
moved to the top. This shifts the order of the rows, so that the rst row becomes the
second, the second row becomes the third and so on.
3
Correct Anwser: F
Each block in the series contains a central gure which is the internal gure of a larger
gure: (i) The central gure rstly gradually increases in size; (ii) Secondly changes in
colour from white to beige to black, then back to white and so on; (iii) The larger gure
changes from a square with rounded corners to a square to a pentagon, then back to a
square with rounded corners, and so on.
4
Correct Anwser: C
Each block in the series contains a set of diagonal and horizontal lines. In the rst block
there are 3 diagonal lines and one horizontal line is added in (on to the rst diagonal). In
the second block one of the diagonal lines disappears and an additional horizontal line is
added on to the rst diagonal. The same pattern is repeated until there are no diagonal
lines, then the next block adds back in one diagonal line, and so on.
5
Correct Anwser: E
Each block in the series contains a column of four gures. These are always in the same
order: white triangle, then black square, then white square, then black triangle. At each
step in the series the top gure is moved to the bottom. Thus, the second gure becomes
the rst gure, the third becomes the second, and so on.
