How to take your painkillers

to you by your doctor or nurse
practitioner
3. The advice is now stored on
your phone
Take 1G (2x 500mg tablets) Paracetamol regularly every 8
hours.
Also take 400mg Ibuprofen regularly every 8 hours.
For breakthrough pain, take Dihydrocodeine 30mg (1 tablet)
up to 4 times daily.
Please note
All three painkillers can safely be taken together without risk
of overdose, so there is no need to alternate between them.
Discontinue ibuprofen if you develop stomach pains.
Dihydrocodeine often causes constipation you might need
to take a laxative if you need to take frequent doses.
Triple for adults <54kg
Take 1G (2x 500mg tablets) Paracetamol regularly every
4-6 hours, but no more than 4 times a day.
Also take 800mg Ibuprofen regularly every 8 hours.
For breakthrough pain, take Dihydrocodeine 30mg (1 tablet)
up to 4 times daily.
Please note
All three painkillers can safely be taken together without risk
of overdose, so there is no need to alternate between them.
