SUBJECT: DRUGS AND CASH FOUND DURING SEARCH OF PORTSMOUTH
APARTMENT
Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware and Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini
announce that on May 28, 2014 at approximately 3:15p.m., the Southern Ohio Drug
Task Force executed a narcotics related search warrant at the residence of 52 year
old Joyce Stone located at 1519 Kendall Ave. Apt. 22 Portsmouth, Ohio. Stone and 61
year old Charles I. Blevins of Beechy Rd. Wallingford, Kentucky were present in the
residence at the time of the search warrant execution.
During a search of the residence, task force officers seized approximately $1,225
cash and sixty three suspected Oxycodone pills.
Blevins led task force officers and deputies from the Lewis County Sheriffs Office to
his residence in Kentucky where several firearms were seized. A serial number on one
of the firearms had been altered.
Blevins is currently waiting to stand trial in Lewis County for drug trafficking
charges.
The case in Portsmouth involving Blevins and Stone is continuing to be investigated
and will eventually be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutors Office to be
presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of felony drug charges.
