The Day It Snowed in Miami
Sunday, June 15 at 10 pm
Miami tried to extend civil rights protectons to its
gay citzens in 1977, kicking of a long, divisive, and
hotly contested politcal war, spearheaded by ant-
gay singer Anita Bryant. The measure was repealed
by popular vote, but it presaged the gay rights suc-
cesses of today.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied servicemen
landed on the shores of northern France, tasked
with liberatng western Europe from Nazi tyranny.
On the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landing,
four veterans gather at the Museum of World War II
to share experiences from that fateful day.
NOVA: D-Days Sunken Secrets
Monday, June 30 at 8 pm
NOVA uses the sunken ships of the beaches of
Normandy to create a vivid blow-by-blow account
of the tumultuous events of D-Day, revealing how
the Allies intricate planning and advanced technol-
ogy was vital to assure the success of the most am-
bitous and risky military operaton ever launched.

At the PBS annual meetng in San Francisco last
month, Japanese public broadcastng, NHK, announced
their newest long term broadcastng partner in America,
KRCB. We are pleased and proud to be working with one
of our most respected internatonal colleagues. NHKs
news and arts and cultural programming is among the
fnest. KRCB becomes the ffh such partner working with
NHK.
Also announced last month was the nominaton of
our Natural Heroes series for three regional Emmys. Just
to be nominated is a great honor and we are pleased to
share it with our long term sponsor General Hydroponics
and two foundaton funders. We are also proud that
the Natural Heroes series producer together with the directors of two of the series
independent episodes/flms have also been nominated.

Cardinal Newman Students Give
Generously to KRCB
An enthusiastc group of Cardinal Newman
sophomores came to KRCB on Holy Thursday
(this year April 17) to scrape, sand, and repaint
our handicap-accessible ramp. With work gloves
at hand, they exemplifed the spirit of the day
by giving of themselves enthusiastcally. This
year, the students of Cardinal Newman visited
20 diferent non-profts to help in a host of ways
including gardening, repairing, paintng, and
sortng. We feel very blessed at KRCB to be the
recipient of their generosity. Thank you to the
students and staf.

North Bay Report Electon Special
2014 California Primary
Tuesday, June 3 at 9 pm
KRCB will again provide live coverage of this
years California primary electon on the night
of June 3rd. News Director Bruce Robinson and
Senior Electon Analyst Dick Spotswood will share
results, commentary, and candidate interviews
from 9-11 pm, contnuing a public service tradi-
ton rooted in the earliest days of North Bay
Public Media. Pre-electon debates, interviews
