Wind the bobbin with Metler variegated thread and thread your machine
with matching thread. Begin sewing on the drawn line. (Fig. 6) When the
frst line is fnished, use your presser foot as a guide and sew next to the line
you just sewed. Contnue untl all the fabric has been quilted. (Fig. 7) When
fnished, draw another line the opposite directon and begin quiltng the other
way. (Fig. 8) (Hint: It is a good idea to trim all the threads as you go as this can
be a bit overwhelming at the end of sewing if you dont.) (Fig. 9)
To fnish the ends, cut a 2 strip by 8 1/2. Fold the strip
in half length-wise and press. (Fig. 10)
Unfold and press one long end of raw edge to the
center fold. (Fig. 11)

Using Metler Web Bond
Temporary Adhesive
Spray, spray the inside of
the folded binding. This
will make it a cinch to
hold in place while you
are sewing. (Fig. 13 &
14)
Lay the short end of the quilted piece onto half of the binding. (Fig. 15) Be-
cause of the Web Bond spray adhesive it will stay put but is moveable if you
need to. Then fold the other half of the binding onto the front side. (Fig.

Using the lining fabric, cut 1 piece 8 x 16. (Fig. 18) Fold right sides together
longwise and sew raw edges using 1/2 seam allowance. (Fig. 19) You now
have a tube. Turn right side out and press. (Fig. 20) Fold lengthwise to fnd
the center and cut into 2 pieces. (One pocket for each side). Lay aside.
Cut a piece of lining fabric 17.5 x 10.5. On
the narrow side, fold and press under 1/4 inch,
fold another 1/4 inch and press. (Fig. 21) Sew
this hem to fnish the top of the pocket. Place
the fabric right side up on the table with the
hem on your right. Mark a fold line on the
edge of the fabric from lef to right, mark at 3,
then 2.5, then 3.5, then 2.5 then 3.5. (Fig.
22) Working from the right side of the fabric
fold on the marked lines and press. (Fig. 23)

Fig. 27
Top sttch the folded edge with a 1/4 inch seam. (Fig. 24)
Sttch all the fold lines at
the top of the pocket.
Sttching the botom fold
lines is unnecessary.
Measure and mark a sttch
line down the middle of
the pocket. Then mark an-
other sttching line 2 1/2
inches from the center on
both sides. (Fig. 25)
Sttch through all thickness on the line on either side of
the middle. It is easier if you sttch from botom to
top. Do not sttch the middle yet.
Lets put this thing together. Mark the center of
the quilted piece. Match the pocket center to the
quilted piece center with the raw edge of the pock-
ets along one raw edge of the quilted piece. Place
the pockets you made earlier with the folded edge
next to the binding. The seamed edge of the small
pockets should cover the large pocket by a quarter
inch or so. Pin all pieces in place (Fig. 27)

Through all thicknesses, from edge to edge, sew all
the way down the center line. Then edge sttch the
currency pockets down through all thicknesses. See
arrows on Fig. 28.

Keeping the inside pock-
et fap folded out of the
way, follow manufactur-
ers directons in placing
the magnetc snap in the
center near the edge of
the frst fold. The back
part of the snap will not
show because it will be
inside the currency
pocket. (Fig. 29)
Fold on the center sttching line and the pocket sttching lines and press. (Fig.
30) Trim any excess fabric and threads even with the quilted piece. (Fig. 31) Pin
inside pockets in place or sew them down on the very edge so they will stay
when applying the binding.

To fnish the binding, cut 2 pieces of 2 wide binding 19 long. We will make the
binding exactly as we did on Page 3 (Fig. 10-12), with one excepton. We will
need to fnish the ends. You may just turn the end down 1/4 inch for a hem (Fig.
32) and spray with Metler Web Bond and atach as we did the other edges. Or if
you want the mitered look, follow these instructons.
On the end of the binding, fold a 1/4 hem and
press. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise and press.
(Fig. 32)
Fold down both corners to center to form a 45 de-
gree angle. (Fig. 33 & 34)
Fold and press raw edges to the center on both
sides. (Fig. 36)

Fold binding in half again and press. The end
should look like the end in Fig. 37. Spray inside of
binding with Metler Web Bond and atach as we
did earlier. Use Fig. 15, 16, and 17 for instruc-
tons.
Zig zag binding in place. (Fig. 38) Stop sewing
when you get to about 4 from the end. Cut
the binding 1/4 longer than the wallet. Fol-
low Fig. 32-37 again for fnishing this end. Fin-
ish by sewing all the way to the end of the
wallet.
Now the real fun begins. Fill that wallet full of all your stuf and enjoy.
Now make another one for a friend.
