MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 1- 3; Ac t s 7
Monday, June 23
Col . 3: 1- 4 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the
earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life,
shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Spirit of the Lord:
Come down on my pastors, my deacons, and my church leaders. Be with
the teachers and workers. Let the whole congregation be revived afresh. And not
our church only, but all the little hills of Zion throughout the city. Water them
with showers of blessing. Holy Comforter, visit us!
While you are doing this, look on __________ and __________, and all
the other lost ones among us. Look on sinners with mercy. When you bless me,
likewise make me a blessing to them. If I will just be active with my testimony,
people will praise you. Gather-in the lost and make your name glorious here!
Lord, there is so much turmoil in our nation right nowover war abroad
and violence at home. Override it for your glory! Truth and righteousness are
the best part of progress. May it still be seen that the Lord reigns!
Advance your purpose in my life, even by disaster or defeat. Give me
success and prosperity if it is your will, but not without strengthening my faith.
Make me glad because God is glorified, and not because of the ease of my life.
Help me rejoice not in circumstances, but rejoice in the Lord!
This is my souls greatest goal: lift Jesus name on high. Set up his throne in
my heart to the praise of the glory of his grace. That is true happiness!
I need you, Lord. This week will be all failure without you. Strengthen,
guide and protect. Give me your grace that I may return to you glory, because I
am desperately dependent on you! Thank you for hearing me now, Jesus. Amen.
TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 4- 6; Ac t s 8
Tuesday, June 24
John 10: 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able
to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Heavenly Father and Holy Lord:
While I am here you are with me, but one day I will arrive home together
with you and all the other saints. I praise you that nothing can divide the saint
from the Saviorand whether caught-up into the air at the rapture, or resting in
your presence after death, or traveling here as a pilgrim, I can walk with you and
no one can separate us forever.
1 Thes. 4: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
What a joy to know this! My best rest, comfort, and happiness is for me to
be with you. Nothing in society or community can equal your presence. Down in
this life I understand the fellowship of your sufferings, but they only lead me on
toward glory. Fellowship involves following you in humiliation, rejection
and tribulation. But fellowship also involves either ascending like you ascended,
or rising from the grave like you arose. Either experience promises me a glorified
body free from sin, and I will be robed with royalty in your presence. My
expectation will become manifestation. I will triumph with you.
Thank you for that incomparable destiny! It is mine by right of salvation, so
I do not envy even an archangel. But Lord, others have the same potential
destinyif only we reach them with the gospel! Dont give me a harp of gold;
give me a tongue of silver today. Let my testimony be unclouded and my witness
clear. My greatest fellowship with you is when I am doing your work, and when I
am suffering as Jesus was willing to suffer. Let that be my experience today, for
so I ask it in Jesus name and for his sake alone. Amen.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 7- 9; Ac t s 9
Wednesday, June 25
Mi c ah 7: 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our
iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
Glorious Lord and Gracious Redeemer:
I thank you that while you never turn from your love, you very quickly turn
away from your wrath. Your love to me is not according to my nature, but
according to your character, and your anger toward me is only according to your
office, not according to my person. You love because you are love, and you
only frown because it is loving and necessary for my good.
Thank you Lord, for always coming back to the place where your heart
rests. Namely, the point of love to me. That is why you take pity on my griefs and
end them as soon and as quickly as you do.
Subdue my iniquities! Conquer them, because they try to enslave me at
every turn. Give me victory over them by your right hand. They may have iron
chariots, but like the Canaanites let them be beaten, put under the yoke, and
ultimately slain.
As for the guilt of my sins, Lord how gloriously it is removed! All my
sinsthe whole batch of themthou wilt cast (and only a mighty arm could
perform that wonder) into the depths of the sea. My, but thats where Pharaoh and his
chariots went down and were downed! They sank, not near the shore where they
could wade back or be washed-up by the tide, but into the depths they were
heaved, flung into fathomless oblivion.
Isa. 38: 17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul
delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
They are all gone. They sank to the bottom like the Titanic, and no
operation could ever retrieve them again. Hallelujah! What a Savior! Amen!
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 10- 12; Ac t s 10
Thursday, June 26
Josh. 11: 23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto
Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their
tribes. And the land rested from war.
ON Jordans stormy banks I stand, and cast a wishful eye
To Canaans fair and happy land, where my possessions lie.
O the transporting, rapturous scene, that rises to my sight!
Sweet fields arrayed in living green, and rivers of delight!

There generous fruits that never fail, on trees immortal grow;
There rocks and hills, and brooks and vales, with milk and honey flow.
Oer all those wide extended plains shines one eternal day;
There God the Son forever reigns, and scatters night away.

No chilling winds or poisonous breath can reach that healthful shore;
Sickness and sorrow, pain and death, are felt and feared no more.
When I shall reach that happy place, Ill be forever blest,
For I shall see my Fathers face, and in His bosom rest.

Filled with delight my raptured soul would here no longer stay;
Though Jordans waves around me roll, fearless Id launch away.
I am bound for the promised land, I am bound for the promised land;
Oh who will come and go with me? I am bound for the promised land.

Samuel Stennett, in Selection of Hymns, by John Rippon, 1787
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 13- 15; Ac t s 11
Friday, June 27
Isa. 43: 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Dear Father:
Look at what is happening both here and abroad. How frightened many
families are. Some flee for their lives from affliction and destruction and terror.
Build a bridge for us to give them the hope of the gospel!
Sometimes Lord, in our own community there is no bridge. Even though
we can see the tornado coming we still go through the storm, and you allow us to
feel the uncontrollable rush of floodwaters. All we can say is that having the
presence of God in the storm is better than riding a battleship on calm seas.
Tried we must be, but triumphant we shall be. You are mightier than many
waters, and you are always with us. Whenever else it may seem like you are away,
the one time we can know certainly you are with us, above all others, is the time
of difficulty and danger, trial and tribulation. It may seem like our sorrow rises to
an insurmountable height, but you are equal to every situation and master of
every circumstance. We need your intervention once again now, so the flood will
force us higher and not wash us way!
Our enemies put dangers of their own devising in our way. But if you are
with us Lord, not only shall we not be burned, we shall not even be moved.
We praise you for the security of your love. Floods cannot drown us and
fires cannot burn us. Your presence is our protection, as well as that of every
other saint who trusts you today. In faith we commit ourselves and our cause to
you. Give us the type of rest that provides stability for a move forward, and
a testimony to the lost. It is in Jesus name we ask for all this. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 16- 18; Ac t s 12
Saturday, June 28
Ps a. 34: 14- 15 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of
the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
Almighty God and My Redeemer:
I read, I believe, and I want to feed on what your word says today. I plead
and parade it before you as my prayer. The one whom I fear is only a man or a
woman, while the one who promises to protect me is Creator and very God
indeed. This infinite, intimate assurance more than covers my limited dangers.
Isa. 51: 12- 13 I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest
be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; and
forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations
of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he
were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
Where i s the fury of the oppressor? It is in your hand, Lord. Human fury is a
dying fury that will end soon enough. My fear is not well-founded if I am fearing
this. Let me stand in awe of no one else but you, because everybody else is just
as frail as I am.
Ps a. 34: 17- 18 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out
of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such
as be of a contrite spirit.
I can make an idol out of a man or a woman when I pay them inordinate
love. But I can also turn them into an idol if I give them undue fear. Help me
today to treat men as men, and Lord, to give you all the honor of God. In that
way I can go calmly along the path of the hard but right way, and fulfill my duty
to righteousness. Make me a witness through the things I endure, and make
me outlast my oppressors! For so I ask it in Jesus spectacular name. Amen.

HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.

2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

PRAYER DIARY

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS
" PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
