FARM MANAGER

The Farm Manager works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Operations to
ensure the successful and controlled operation of the farm. This individuals role is to tend to the
health and welfare of produce grown at the facility. The Farm Manager must schedule and
manage production to ensure the facility obtains sales goals. The farm manager must analyze
farm techniques and procedures, provide strategies for improvement and reduce the cost of
overhead. The farm manager manages all production personal to provide structure and discipline
for farm. The farm manager is ultimately responsible for all products associated with the farm
which includes the Tilapia farm, the production of nutrient enhanced water, micro greens and
produce. This employee shall provide Selovita and Florida Urban Organics the following
services and/or duties:

Establish and maintain an integrated pest management program
Establish and maintain top horticultural standards and practices;
Provide direction, training and motivation for staff
Manage and support overall health of plants
Bridge the gap between sales and production
Achieve target projections
Establish and oversee a systemic records policy
Coordinate the maintenance and operation of all equipment.
Monitor staff performance and progress
Responsible for producing budgets and budget monitoring,
Actively work with the production team in the field
Collaborate with Administration Department
Develop and expand the farms capacities and products
Oversee the execution of harvests
Responsible for product development
Deliver weekly farm directives
Supervise the purchase of production items
Collaborate with the Sales Department
Analyze farm methods and delivers weekly production reports
Ensure compliance with requirements set forth by QCS & GAP
Additional job responsibilities as necessary

Selovita is a startup company focused on designing and creating sustainable food systems for
community empowerment, sustainability, and food security. Selovita incorporates various
farming techniques to accomplish its mission such as hydroponics, aquaponics, aquaculture,
climate controlled agriculture, and vertical farming. Due to the nature of a startup company,

positions within the company require work flexibility, the ability to multitask, handle diverse
work loads, and perform continuously in a high paced work environment. Selovita is seeking a
highly knowledgeable and experienced individual to manage their Florida Urban Organics farm.
This individual must possess a horticultural background with insight to the complexities
associated with agriculture and plant botany in a production setting.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The farm manager works with the production team to ensure the daily operation and
functionality of the farm. Excellent leadership and management skills are necessary for this
position as the farm manager will be responsible for performing farm directives in collaboration
with the production team. A positive attitude, thorough and efficient pace, strong work ethic must
be maintained, understanding that the farm manager is always setting an example for the
production staff. The farm manager must have a strong and attentive understanding of the
rhythm of farm work.

The position requires flexibility and adaptability as weather and other factors can often affect the
daily operations. It is important that the farm manager is abreast of daily and weekly weather
forecasts. Weekly feedback sessions will occur between the Farm Manager and Director of
Operations. This is a vital time to reflect on the working relationship and communication
between both parties, to do a self-evaluation, and discuss any difficulties managing the crew.
This is also a time to communicate observations of crew performance, and issues that may need
assistance or addressing. The farm manager is also required to participate in monthly feedback
sessions with individual employees and facilitate conflict resolution as needed.

The farm manager must be familiar with all farm responsibilities including the operation of the
aquaculture facility. Farm responsibilities or other directives must be executed using available
resources and often require that they are completed within a specific time window. As a result
the farm manager is expected to work alongside the production team to meet production goals.
Weekly reports generated by the production staff should be reviewed by the farm manager and
submitted to the director of operations. It is the responsibility of the farm manager to train
employees and uphold the highest level of performance. The farm manger must provide solid
instruction and constructive feedback to members of the farm team.

The overall success of the farms business is quality control and food safety. The farm manager
will quickly learn and implement harvest standards and enforcement of those standards. Selovita
trains all of its employees on good hygiene practices and standards for food safety. The farm
manager must enforce adopted policies, procedures, and compliance with legal and statutory
requirements as well as uphold and maintain regulations and requirements set forth by Global
GAP, QCS (Organic Certification), and all other regulatory agencies.

With the aid of technology, urban farming and the aquaponic industry is rapidly progressing. As
a result, on the job training and knowledge acquired by production personal has significate value
to the company. For this reason, operations and information acquired on the job must be
documented accurately and concisely. The farm manager will ensure that daily

documentation/logs, weekly reports, and all relevant operational information is accurately
managed and kept up to date in an organized fashion. The farm manager will ultimately aid the
development of future systems and products by combining the farms documentation & records
with the overall production teams knowledge & experience.

The farm manager is required to arrive fifteen minutes before the rest of the crew to get
organized. This time may be used for farm observations, equipment checks, to prepare for
harvest or to plan for the morning delegations. All employees must check in through the day with
the farm manager and at the daily starting and ending huddles. At the end of the day, the farm
manager typically stays later then the crew when necessary to organize directives or collaborate
with administration. This position requires an advanced knowledge of all positions within the
farm and will often require filling positions of others on the production team. The farm manager
will be required to work rotating weekends during the growing season.

The right person for this position is dedicated, dependable, detail-oriented, well-organized,
flexible and has good people skills. Great commutation and self-motivation are imperative as is a
genuine interest in growing wholesome, organic food on a small sustainable farm. Additionally,
the position requires someone who understands the intricacies and challenges associated with a
startup business, never losing sight that this is an operation that must be economically
independent in order to achieve its mission of a being a sustainable food system. Once more, it is
collectively the farm managers and production teams goal to become economic viable. After
successful and routine production of the vertical field is accomplished the farm manager will
assist in the expansion of Florida Urban Organics indoor growing area and the implementation
of procedures associated with its development and production.

Employee accepts and agrees to such employment, and agrees to be subject to the general
supervision, advice and direction of the director of operations. Employee also agrees to perform
(i) the duties outlined in the description and other duties as are customarily performed by an
employee in a similar position, and (ii) such other and unrelated services and duties as may be
assigned to employee from time to time by Selovita as long as they do not conflict with the
implementation of the employees primary responsibilities. Employee agrees to be subject to
Selovitas policies outlined in the company handbook and agrees to adhere to the Non-
Disclosure Agreement.
