Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, Inc. (CHUN) is a non-profit registered neighborhood
organization dedicated to Preserving the Past, Improving the Present, and Planning for the Future of Greater Capitol Hill. CHUN strives to accomplish this mission through its emphasis on historic preservation, affordable housing and homelessness, land use, transportation and zoning, and public safety. At the foundation of all CHUN does is the notion of civic participation - that we become a healthier, more vibrant community through the active involvement of the people who comprise our neighborhoods.
CHUN produces the annual CHUN Capitol Hill People's Fair the first full weekend of every June. The People's Fair exists as a community celebration, and gives back to local non-profits through our Community Partners program, and through our CHUN Community Center.
CHUN seeks a fall semester intern to assist our non-profit neighborhood organization in the work we do on behalf of the community. An intern is needed to help with CHUN member recruitment, communication to our members and neighbors, research, fundraising and event planning.
Intern will gain knowledge and experience in community work and in working with a nonprofit organization. The CHUN intern will work closely with the CHUN staff, Board of Delegates, and Peoples Fair planning committee.
The intern will also attend some staff meetings, occasional board meetings, and community meetings. This position will afford the opportunity to work with different community groups, city and state agencies, and to gain valuable experience working for a non-profit organization.
This is an unpaid internship which may be completed for college credit or practical experience in a nonprofit organization. Rsum and cover letter for applicants will be due in the CHUN office by Friday, August 22 at 5:00 pm; however we will accept rsums after August 22 until the position is filled. Please e-mail rsum to Andrea Furness (andreafurness@chundenver.org) or fax to 303-830-1782. Intern may work 15-30 hours per week. For more information on Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, please visit www.chundenver.org.

A positive attitude and high energy is desired in our intern! Proficiency in MS Office is very important. Intern must have access to reliable transportation and proof of up-to-date auto liability insurance.
