shape for the nose.

Give i t a tree to si t i n.
Bush babies are tiny tree-
dwell ing lemurs. They are
nocturnal which means they
are active at ni ght. They are
great leapers and their big
googly eyes help them see i n
the dark. They eat insects,
eggs, fruit and small animals.

dashes for eyebrows.

size. Noti ce the angles of
the shapes and the
distance between the
three shapes.
2 Connect the shapes
with curved li nes.
Draw an ear and the
beginning of a tai l.
3 Draw an eye, nostril
and mouth. Add the
m a n e . Complete the
tai l . Draw the top
secti ons of four l egs.

5 To compl ete the drawing,

z e b r a s spectacul ar
stripes. They are
compli cated, so take your
t ime and do a smal l
section at a time.
Zebras are grazing ani mal s
that live in herds. A fancy
cousi n of the horse, each
z e b r a s stripes are as
i ndividual as fingerpri nts. A
mother zebra can tell which
baby is hers by its stripes. Do
you think its like readi ng a bar
code at the grocery store?

el ephants have bi gger ears than
their Asi an cousins. Add a tai l.
3 Draw the elephants
trunk and mouth.
Add two sturdy
legs. Fi nish the tai l.

Elephants are the
largest li ving land
mammal. Mother
elephants are pregnant
for almost two years
and baby elephants
weigh around two
hundred and fi fty
pounds at birth.
Intelligent and social,
they li ve in herds.
An el ephant i s the only
animal wi th a trunk.
Elephants use it to
s h o w e r, carry food,
cuddl e a baby, sniff the
wind, roll a heavy log,
or greet a friend. When
elephants meet each
o t h e r, they put the tips
of thei r trunks in each
o t h e rs mouths.
4 Draw two more legs. Add a tusk.

lower than the others.
2 Careful ly connect the
c i rc l e s wi th curved li nes.
Draw an eye and add the
beginning of a tai l.

tai l. Draw two l egs.
4 Draw ears.

5 Add hooves and tusks.
Draw l ines inside the ears.
6 Draw a l ong bri stly mane
on the back and forehead.
7 To fi nish your drawing,
erase extra l ines. Shade
your warthog and add
c o l o r.
A warthog is a wild African pi g.
It lives in burrows, and l ikes to
enter them backwards. I ts tusks
are used for di gging and
defense. The warthog diet
consists of roots, eggs and
small mammals.

Happy Hi ppo!
The name hippopotamus means ri ver horse but the
hippo is more hog than horse. It lives near water and
spends much of its ti me submerged with only i ts eyes,
ears and nostrils showi ng. A hi ppo calf can swim
immediatel y after birth and often nurses underwater.
Hi ppos eat mainly fruit, l eaves and grassa lot of i t!
