Edward's POV
i kissed her forehead and ran. ran far away, not paying any
attention to where i was going. i couldn’t stop the sobs that
spilled out of my chest. i’m surprised i was composed
through the actual break up. just thinking about it made me
slow down. i eventually stopped in my tracks and collapsed
out of sadness.
Alice’s POV
i gasped.
Edward’s POV
“i know you don’t want to, but can you please come home?”
alice looked like she was trying not to cry along with me, but
failed. a faint sob escaped between her lips.
alice laid down next to me. “ok, then if you’re not coming,
then i’m not leaving. you can’t –or shouldn’t—be alone in
this condition. you need someone to be around you,
comforting you.”
alice sighed and laid down next to me. “the whole family is
totally messed up. they’re worried about you times a billion.
esme cries all of the time whispering your name, emmett
won’t even make jokes, carlisle stares blankly into space,
jasper does nothing but try to endure everyone else’s pain,
and even rosalie isn’t acting like herself. she’s being too
nice. and me, i’ve been in my room waiting for a vision of
you to come. then carlisle told me to look for you, so i did.
and now, here i am.” she hugged me.
“ok,” i whispered. “i’ll come for a while. but not for long.”
“good.”
Alice’s POV
poor edward.
“sorry.” he murmured.
“it’s alright.” i said, rubbing his arm. “i’ll catch that mountain
lion behind the trees over there, ok?”
“yes. there is. you don’t smell it?” he shook his head. i
sighed. “well, i’ll kill it for you, ok?”
“alright.”
i killed the cat that’s more than twice my size with a snap of
its neck. i dragged the dead lion over to edward.
Edward’s POV
i still had black eyes, and i was still thirsty, but i was strong
enough to run home at a normal vampire pace. i was still too
weak for my fastest though.
“why dear edward?” esme said, still hugging me, but not as
hard.
“i can’t bear to have you guys worrying about me. just look
at jasper. he’s trying to endure my pain.” jasper is on the
floor in a far corner with a horrified expression. “i’m just
gonna go, ok? never to return. say your goodbyes. i’ll call
sometimes, if i’m up to it.”
“goodbye. but let me tell you this, i will endure any kind of
pain you bring along with you, because if you’re here, i’ll be
happy.” jasper said. i sighed.
days passed……
weeks passed…….
months passed…..
i called my family once, and they never called me. but today,
my phone vibrated in my pocket. i didn’t want to answer it,
but i did.
“what?!”
Alice’s POV
i gasped.
“so? if it’s worth saving a family member, then i’m all for it.
no matter the agony.”
“i love you, jazz. you know that?”
“ok…?”
we got to edward and jasper was all but screaming with the
agony. edward was sitting and sobbing.
“edward.” i whispered.
“it’s true. i’ve never felt any emotion this strong before on
anyone.” jasper whispered.
Jasper’s POV
my god. edward’s emotions are just…woah. it’s horrible. i
tried to make him better, or at least happy enough to come
home and stay there. the power was no use. this is just…
wow…poor kid…
Esme’s POV
Edward’s POV
why can’t they just leave me ALONE? can’t they see that i
want to be AWAY from everyone? i sighed unevenly. “can
you please just go? i can’t really talk anymore. especially
about why i’m here. just leave. please.” i said in my
unfamiliar voice.
“ok. but me and maybe jazz will come and check on you…
ok?”
Alice’s POV
i had a vision.
everyone was happy to see me, and i wasn’t happy, but i felt
better when i saw my family.
“i hope you feel better.” esme said. i nodded i slow nod and
ran off to forks.
i sat at the grave until closing, went outside until the staff
closed the cemetery, jumped over the 15 ft gates and stayed
all night, sobbing.
i got home and told my family that they could go. i did go
along with them, but i stood behind everyone and mourned
in silence.
“bella…?” i whispered.
i started to sob.
Alice’s POV
i had a vision
Edward’s POV
the humans came pouring in, and when aro took the first
bite out of a middle aged man, everyone went frantic. a
young teenager, probably around 14 was the only one who
wasn’t freaking.
“no. but that doesn’t matter. i’m sorry, i need to kill you.”
“ok. do it.” she seemed so ready for it…. i took a bite out of
her neck and drank the warm, tasty blood that was running
through her veins. she whimpered and then her heart
stopped. i finished her off and it seems everyone else has
finished feeding also.
