1. IDENTIFY, RESEARCH , AND COLLECT
DATA ON AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE USING
DIGITAL RESOURCES AND PROPOSE A
DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE
SOLUTION (1,3,4)the students with a PowerPoint
 I could provide
presentation which would consist of what
recycling is, and ways to recycle.
 I would then bring in different recycling bins
into the classroom, teaching them how to
recycle plastic, glass, and even computer
parts.
2. ENGAGE IN LEARNING ACTIVITIES WITH
LEARNERS FROM MULTIPLE CULTURES THROUGH
E-MAIL AND OTHER ELECTRONIC MEANS (2,6)

o I think a great way to approach

this, would be to collaborately work
with other students, from a different
school, who are of a different
culture.

o I could find another teacher from

a different school, in a different
country, to be the classes “pen pal”.

o As a class, the students would

write back and forth, learning
certain aspects about another
culture.
3. IN A COLLABORATIVE WORK GROUP, USE A
VARIETY OF TECHNOLOGIES TO PRODUCE A
DIGITAL PRESENTATION OR PRODUCT IN A
CURRICULUM AREA (1,2,6)
o Using a digital camera, as a class, I
could take the students around
outside and take pictures of different
plants.

o We could then work on a

PowerPoint presentation together as
a class, and our curriculum area will
be focused on science.

o This would help the students learn

how to apply pictures (the ones of
the plants we took with the digital
camera) to a PowerPoint
presentation.
4. USE SIMULATIONS AND GRAPHICAL ORGANIZERS TO
EXPLORE AND DEPICT PATTERNS OF GROWTH SUCH AS
THE LIFE CYCLES OF PLANTS AND ANIMALS. (1,3,4)

o Using Internet sources, such as

Google, together as a class, we could
research different types of animals and
plants.

o As a teacher, I could then show the

students how to create a chart for the
different types of animals, and a graph
for the plants.
o The students would gain a better
knowledge of how to create graphical
organizers for future projects in
upper classes, and show them how
they could apply a curriculum area,
such as science or math, and make it
more appealing by using the
computer.
The End

"Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as

bridges over which they invite their students to cross,
then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse,
encouraging them to create bridges of their own." --
Nikos Kazantzakis
