Andoain – Lekunberri (42 km)

Don’t let the idea of a 600m climb put you off. The incline on the Vía Verde del Plazaola is so gentle that you won’t
notice the incline, and the views along the way are incredible. Best of all, almost all of today’s route takes place on
routes that have very little, if any, traffic. Remember to bring a flashlight or headlight in case

Day Two Cue Sheet
ANDOAIN - LEKUNBERRI (42 km)

START POINT: Andoain tran station (NOT Andoain Central!!)

WHERE TO GET FOOD AND WATER:

There’s a large supermarket just beside the tourist office in Andoain. The
nearby Plaza Mayor (Nasgusia Plaza, in Euskera) has a number of
restaurants where you can get breakfast or bocadillos to go.

HOW TO GET THERE:

RENFE runs regular commuter train service between Zumárraga and Irún,
which also goes through San Sebastian, as well as Regional service
between Vitoria-Gasteiz and Irún.

KEEP IN MIND:
Get water in Andoain, as there are no fountains between Andoain and
Leitza.

WHAT TO SEE:
Both Andoain and Leitza are charming towns with traditional architecture,
and it’s worth taking the time to explore both towns.

WHERE TO SLEEP
There are no hotels or campsites in Andoain; it’s easier to stay in San
Sebastian the night before and take the train down the next morning. For
accommodation on the Navarra side, take a look at the area’s website
(www.plazaola.org) to see various options in Leitza, Uitzi and Lekunberri.
