I. Introduction

My research is dealing with the attitudes and views on the Obama

Administration. Since 2008, President Barack Obama has been President of
the United States of America. “Decision ‘08”not only shocked the country,
but answered a cry for help. The United State’s economy has been facing a
recession since the war in Iraq ended. America was looking for a “hero” and
Obama was it. His speeches and lectures gave America hope that he could
turn America’s financial situation around. However that was not the only
change he promised to provide but also Barack Obama is the first black
president. These two elements along with other elements stirred up great
commotion until President Obama was finally elected. Emotions rain deep
throughout the many hearts of Americans when the first black president was
elected. The goal of my research is to find out if those who had so much
passion for Obama before election time are now satisfied with the job he is
doing so far. In this way, I am analyzing the satisfactory level of the public
on the President Obama Administration.

The survey consists of a series of questionnaires, which examine their

attitudes towards the Obama Administration. There are three background
questions involving race, age, and gender to identify the respondents.
Respondents are asked their political party. The political party can influence
the decision on which party to vote for. Respondents are asked who they
voted for president of the United States. Which candidate the respondent
voted for has impact on their special views and interests. The candidate
someone votes for most likely supports their special interest. The
respondent’s special interest in government is asked. Respondents are also
asked if they believe President Obama has shown efforts in their special
interest and in re-establishing America’s financial crisis into non-existence.
Both questions will express the views on President Obama efforts from the
public.

I have formulated three bivariate tables and two multivariate tables. The first
bivariate crosstab examines the respondent’s political party by the race of
the respondents. The hypothesis for the first bivariate graph states, Black
respondents are more likely to be democrats. The second bivariate crosstab
examines the relationship between which candidates the respondent voted
for by the respondent’s political party. The hypothesis states, respondents
tend to vote for the candidate that represents the respondent’s political
Richardson 3

party. The third bivariate cross tab examines the relationship between the
ethnicity of the respondents by if the respondents agrees or disagree with
the efforts of the Obama Administration. The hypothesis states, more black
respondents are more likely to agree that the Obama Administration is
showing effort in their special interest.

For the multivariate analysis, gender is used as a control variable for both
formulated crosstabs. In the first multivariate crosstab, the relationship
between the efforts of the Obama Administration by the respondent’s
interests is examined. The hypothesis states more female respondents who
have special interest in healthcare more likely will agree that the Obama
Administration has shown effort in the respondent’s special interest than
male respondents. The second multivariate crosstab examines if the
respondents agree or not that the Obama administration has shown effort in
banishing the current financial crisis in America than female respondents.
The hypothesis for the second multivariate graph, is out of all the
respondents, more female respondents who are democrat will agree with the
efforts of the Obama administration to making America’s current financial
crisis non-existent. The following tables and graphs is the data collected from
my surveys.

IV. Summary & Conclusion

The hypothesis states more female respondents who have special interest in

healthcare will more likely will agree that the Obama Administration has

shown effort in the respondent’s special interest than male respondents. The

second multivariate crosstab examines if the respondents agree or not that

the Obama administration has shown effort in banishing the current financial

crisis in America than female respondents. According to the graphs from my

background and questionnaire items, there are more black respondents than

white and other respondents. The largest percentage of respondents were 21

and under. There is a larger percentage of female respondents. A larger

percentage of respondents are Democrat. A larger percentage of respondents

voted for Barack Obama. A larger percentage of respondents have an area of

special interest in government in Healthcare. A larger percentage of

respondents responded yes rather than no. A larger percentage of

respondents agree that President Obama has shown efforts towards making

America’s financial crisis non-existent. The first bivariate crosstab examines

the respondent’s political party by the race of the respondents. The

hypothesis for the first bivariate graph states, Black respondents are more

likely to be democrats. The second bivariate crosstab examines the

relationship between which candidates the respondent voted for by the

respondent’s political party. The hypothesis states, respondents tend to vote

for the candidate that represents the respondent’s political party. The third
Richardson 18

bivariate cross tab examines the relationship between the ethnicity of the

respondents by if the respondents agrees or disagree with the efforts of the

Obama Administration. The hypothesis states, more black respondents are

more likely to agree that the Obama Administration is showing effort in their

special interest. According to the data from my bivariate graphs, a larger

percentage of black respondents are democrats. A larger percentage of

respondents are Democrats who voted for Barack Obama. A larger

percentage of Black respondents agree to the efforts of the Obama

Administration. For the multivariate analysis, gender is used as a control

variable for both formulated crosstabs. In the first multivariate crosstab, the

relationship between the efforts of the Obama Administration by the

respondent’s interests is examined. The hypothesis states more female

respondents who have special interest in healthcare more likely will agree

that the Obama Administration has shown effort in the respondent’s special

interest than male respondents. The second multivariate crosstab examines

if the respondents agree or not that the Obama administration has shown

effort in banishing the current financial crisis in America than female

respondents. The hypothesis for the second multivariate graph, is out of all

the respondents, more female respondents who are democrat will agree with

the efforts of the Obama administration to making America’s current

financial crisis non-existent. According to the data from the graphs, larger

percentage of female respondents agree with the efforts and support

Healthcare. Out of all the respondents more male respondents who agree
Richardson 19

with the efforts of Obama Administration on efforts to banish the current

financial crisis in America are Democrats. My hypotheses were proven right

through my research and the given data.
