The supply demand scenario, domestic steelindustry and the present and possible role of India was analyzed in case of China.To start with the Indian and the world Iron and steel Industry is studied andcomparative study of the performance of Exporting Countries and Indian industryis analyzed.India’s positioning in the global perspective will depend upon costcompetitiveness of the Indian. Besides the continuous emphasis is to given onnew technology/process/products developed, productivity improvement,quality improvement. The Chinese steel market is one of the most activemarkets in the world. China is a country with a dynamic economy whose annualgrowth rate has stayed at 7-8 percent in the last five years.After this China Customer are segmented, and the most attractive segments for Indian Exporters are selected as target markets. The company studied is JindalSteel Ltd. Jindal Stainless is among the top twelve stainless steel producers inthe world along with Arcelor, KTS, Acerinox, Avesta Polarit, and POSCO etc. Thecompany itself has two offices in China and is a well-known brand in the ChineseStainless Steel Industry. It is a pioneer in the production of Chrome ManganeseStainless Steel and last year 90% of Jindal Stainless' exports were to China.
