True20 unified condition track system

This system is designed to simplify the tracking of the various damage and fatigue conditions which can affect True20 characters. A
sheet suitable for tracking a character's conditions during play is given on page 2.

The condition track

Each character has a condition track with the following states:

Normal -1 -2 -5 -10 Unconscious

Normal: You are unharmed and can act unhindered.

-1 to -10: You are in an increasingly bad state. You apply your condition penalty to all d20 rolls, except Toughness saves and
Recovery checks.
Unconscious: You are unconscious and remain so until you recover enough to move up a condition level.

Recoverable vs persistent conditions

Anything which lessens your ability to function is classed as a condition. Examples: wounds, poison, fatigue, disease, being bashed
around, and so on.
Conditions are either recoverable or persistent.
Recoverable conditions: A single recoverable condition can be removed by spending a full round action. You can also spend a point
of Conviction to remove one as a free action. All recoverable conditions are automatically removed at the end of a scene.
Persistent conditions: Cannot be recovered so easily. Recovery requires a recovery check (Con checks vs Difficulty 10) after a
certain period of time has elapsed. This period depends on the type of condition.

Damage conditions
The severity of non-lethal and lethal damage are determined by the result of a Toughness save.

Toughness save Non-lethal Lethal

Succeeds No damage No damage
Fails Hurt Hurt
Fails by 5+ 1 × Dazed 1 × Wounded
Fails by 10+ 2 × Dazed 2 × Wounded
Fails by 15+ 3 × Dazed 3 × Wounded

Hurt (recoverable): No direct effect. If you are already Hurt 3 times you take a Dazed (if you just suffered non-lethal damage) or
Wounded (for lethal damage) condition and are Stunned 1 round.
Wounded (persistent): Stunned for 1 round. Move down a condition level. If you take 4 or more Wounds you are Dying. You can
make a recovery check for one Wounded condition after a day of rest.
Dazed (recoverable): Stunned for 1 round. Move down a condition level.
Dying: Difficulty 10 Recovery check per round, as in the core rules. If you succeed by 10 or more you recover from the Dying
condition.

Fatigue conditions
Levels of fatigue can be caused be various things (use of supernatural powers, heat, cold, starvation, using Extra Effort, etc). Each
level of fatigue causes a Fatigued condition.
Fatigued (persistent): Move down a condition level. Recovery check after an hour's rest, or spend a Conviction point to recover one
Fatigue condition. All fatigue recovers automatically after an extended rest.

Poison / disease conditions

Conditions from poison or disease vary in their effects, but they are usually persistent. The Narrator should simply determine the
recovery time for each such condition. They can be recorded in the Misc section on the condition sheet.
