Global Issues

Final Project
Value: 20% of Final Grade
Objective
Your task is to raise a community’s awareness of either a global issue that we’ve already studied
(Seniors) or a global issue that we didn’t have time for, but perhaps should have studied
(Juniors). Your goal is to chose a topic, educate your community about that topic, and present it
in a way that persuades your community to care about that topic.

Medium
You have 3 options for the presentation of your issue. Each of these is electronic, and final
projects will be submitted electronically (in addition to printed, if appropriate).
1. A movie/public service announcement (2 ½ -4 minutes long)
2. An electronic poster (size: 16x20)
3. An electronic tri-fold brochure (8.5x11, double-sided)

Project Requirements
When submitting the project, each of the following components must be submitted:
1. Electronic file of the project (see rubric for further requirements)
2. Works Cited (including media index) in correct MLA format
3. Annotated Bibliography of 5+ sources in correct MLA format (for Juniors only)

Assessment
Projects will be graded by a panel of 4 assessors: Ms. Federman, a CIT, a librarian, and a member
of the Administration team. See the attached rubric for details.

Deadline
Seniors: Friday, May 7th at 11:59pm
Juniors: Friday, May 14th at 11:59pm
Note: Juniors will the present their topics and participate in peer-review on May 17th-18th
