EUROCLASSICA

Euroclassica is the European Association of

teachers of the Classical Civilizations. This
federation of the national societies of
classical philologists of 24 European
countries was created in 1991.

The objectives of the Federation are:

to bring together all the associations

of teachers of classical languages and
civilisation in Europe in order to promote
their cooperation

to ensure the promotion and defence

of the study of classical languages and
civilisation, a unifying link and powerful
factor of cultural cohesion among
European countries, especially through
representation
at
international
organisations

to assert publicly the contemporary

importance of classical languages and
civilisations

to demonstrate the pressing need to

teach them, fully respecting the autonomy
of each country; to encourage cooperation
with associations outside Europe which
have similar aims.
