BRCC response to CBC report on changes to the Food Mail Program

The BRCC was greatly concerned after reviewing the report made by the CBC
(May 18, 2010) on proposed changes to the federally funded Food Mail Program.
The BRCC has since made some enquiries as to the accuracy of the report and
has been assured that the proposed changes to the program are not as
portrayed in that report.

The federal government is expecting to have a press conference later this week
where they will explain the proposed changes. The BRCC expects to attend that
event and will draft an official response based on the government’s presentation.
