OUR MISSION
STATEMENT:

Making Disciples
...Changing
the World

America has been

blessed as the longest
on-going Constitutional
Republic in the history of
the world. These blessings come straight from
God.
All you have to do is
look at the turmoil in
other parts of the world
and you will see how
blessed we are to be
able to come to Church
on Sunday and worship
freely. With that said, we
have got to preserve the
foundations and principles on which this great
country was built.
On July 2, 1776,
Congress voted to
approve a complete
separation from England.
Two days later, the early
draft of the Declaration
of Independence was

Rev. April Wegehaupt

signed. Four days later,

members of Congress
took the document and
read it out loud from
the steps of Independence Hall, afterwards
they rang the Liberty
Bell. The inscription on
the top of the bell is
Leviticus 25:10, which
reads, "Proclaim liberty
throughout the land
and to all the inhabitants thereof."

pendence lost their life

for our freedom. Sadly,
freedom is not fully
free. We have got to
maintain our religious
freedom and the
principles this country
was founded on!
The Founding Fathers
passed the torch to us.
It is our responsibility to
not let it go out. Celebrate this 4th of July by
putting God first.

John Adams said,

"The general principles
on which the Fathers
achieved independence
were the general
principles of
Christianity." John
Adams believed that
the Fourth of July
should be a religious
holiday. Sadly, many
who signed the
Declaration of Inde-

The Wisdom of

MAKING DISCIPLES...CHANGING THE WORLD

Hello and God Bless,

This last month has been a wonderful month. Our VBS week was a complete
and total success. We had a total of 146 children attend our VBS week, and I
believe most of them came back for the whole week. I would love to thank ALL
of my helpers and volunteer's, without my crew leaders and station leaders
dedication to their positions VBS would not be as successful as it was. Cheryl
Day, Marsha Carter, Donna Budreau, Shannon Finley, Judy Manbeck, Janie
VanHouden, Linda Arnett, and Pastor April did such a wonderful job with the
stations. I was able to see the excitement in the kids faces while they were in
their groups. Also a huge thank you to Russ Valier. Russ was great in the opening and closing of each day with songs and a small message. I'm so very proud
of my Youth groupers that helped out with VBS, they were very important in
keeping things running smoothly. Thank you so much for your help and dedication to your church.
I want to remind all the Jr. and Sr. high youth groupers that their Bible study
will be starting July 6th. Their Bible study will be every Wednesday 6-7:30pm.
I'm also looking into a concert trip to Hillsong United, at the Sprint Center in
Kansas City, MO. July 27th.
Thank you and God bless,
Director of Young Ministries,
Demian Wegehaupt

We will soon have an opening for a caring,

nurturing individual who would be interested
in providing a safe and welcoming environment
for children on Sunday morning. If you, or
someone you know may be interested in this
position, please contact the church office ASAP.

"The Face of God"

A Kindergarten teacher
was observing her
classroom as the children
drew pictures. The teacher would occasionally
walk around and see
each childs artwork.
As she approached one
little girl who was working
especially hard, she
asked what the drawing
was.
The little girl told her:
Im drawing God!
But sweety, the teacher
replied, no one actually
knows what God looks
like.
Automatically, the little
girl continued drawing
and said well, they
certainly will in a minute!

UPCOMING EVENTS

How to become a member....

You are welcome to attend worship services, member or not. For
that matter, you can attend any
activity of the church and are
invited to do so. Becoming a

church. Our vows ask us to faithfully participate in the life of the
church with our prayers, our
presence, our gifts, our service
and our witness.
We hope you will be a part of
the ministry of the First United
Methodist Church. If you would
like to become a member, please
give us: Name(s), address, phone
number, e-mail address, anniversaries, birthdays and if you are
already a member of some other
church or not. If you are, we also
need the name of the church and,
if possible, the address. Please
give this to the pastor, or leave in
the church office.
