est trends in the electronics
industry about technology, business
or recruitment, there is an equally
important source of information that
can help the future electronics profes-
sionals make important academic deci-
sions: the opinion of recruiters about
the engineering colleges in India.
EFY recognises how much valuable
is recruiters’ opinion for the budding
engineers. Stands to reason, the true
value of an electronics engineering
course can be judged best by the feed-
back of the industry. Since last year, we
at EFY have been highlighting those
institutes which are held in high es-
teem by the industry. These institutes
are simmering with quality education,
The target respondents of this survey were the top executives from the Indian industry
who play a vital role in their organisation in dealing with fresh talent coming from
academia. They shared their opinion about the electronics engineering colleges of their
choices.
The answers were sorted on the basis of the geographical location of the institutes. The
institutes were divided into four zones: east, west, north and south. Thereafter, the top ten
preferred institutes (five government and five private) were selected from each zone.
Sample size. EFY research bureau began its research targeting 150 respondents. Of
the 150 executives contacted, as many as 89 participated.

Just like the last year’s feedback,
a zonal bias still prevailed among the
companies due to quick availability
of the talent. A major chunk of the re-
spondents preferred to confine the tal-
ent hunt within the nearby geographical
area to reduce the logistic cost. So we
rather than all-India basis. We hope
this endeavour will help would-be elec-
tronics professionals once again. At the
same time, we congratulate the winners.
And well, for us at EFY research bureau,
this is a humble journey to learn.
