Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The 1st Annual STEM Competition will take place on November 13, 2008.
Students will use their science, technology, engineering and math skills to compete against other teams
in a positive and friendly atmosphere. This competition is about motivating students to take courses
that can lead to exciting high-tech careers.

WHO? Students from all 5 academies will compete in teams of 4 during the
competition. Students will sign-up for the competition using the STEM
Registration Form (see attached). Academy Principals, IST’s and/or STEM Teachers
will select students that will best represent their academies. Completed registration
forms can be submitted to:

Ms. Ball, room 107

Mr. Fofanah, room 109
Mr. Yates, room 110

WHAT? There will be a total of six (6) STEM challenges. Each challenge must be
completed in less than 30 minutes. Students will move to a different station
for each challenge.

WHERE? The STEM Challenges will be set up in the hallway between the Transportation
and Professional Health Academies. The awards ceremony will take place in the
media center.

Competition Agenda

9:00 am – 9:30 am Orientation Auditorium

9:30 am – 12:30 pm STEM Challenges Transportation/Prof. Health Hallway
12:30 pm – 1:15pm Lunch Media Center
1:30 pm – 2:00 pm Awards Ceremony Media Center

NOTE: During the competition, students will not attend their regular lunch period. They will be
served lunch after the competition is over (12:30 pm). The awards ceremony will be held in the media
center immediately after lunch. ALL Students will be dismissed in time to attend their 9th period class.

Students will not be allowed to leave the competition area without permission!!!
